About Dungeon and Puzzles
Dungeon and Puzzles is an award‑winning indie title that mixes Sokoban‑style block moving with a dungeon theme. Players explore a pixel‑art dungeon made of 150 handcrafted rooms, each requiring careful equipment choices to defeat monsters and clear obstacles before exiting.
The game runs on Windows and macOS, supports full controller input, and includes Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud saves, and Family Sharing for a single‑player experience. A non‑linear map lets rooms be tackled in any order, encouraging experimentation and move‑count optimization.

Abilities and Equipment
The adventurer can switch between four pieces of equipment: a sword for melee attacks, a bow for ranged strikes, a shield that pushes obstacles, and special gloves that pull monsters. Each tool performs a unique interaction, making equipment selection the core method for influencing the puzzle state.
Swapping equipment is required whenever a different interaction is needed. Planning the order of sword, bow, shield, and glove uses helps create concise move sequences and avoids unnecessary swaps that increase step count.
- Identify the required interaction for each monster or obstacle before changing equipment.
- Track which equipment you have already used in a room to minimize redundant swaps.

Room Design
All 150 rooms are handcrafted, offering distinct layouts, monster placements, and obstacle configurations. The pixel‑art style reinforces a classic dungeon atmosphere while clearly displaying interactive elements needed for puzzle solving.
Rooms are linked through a non‑linear map, allowing players to approach them in any sequence. This design encourages revisiting rooms after learning new equipment strategies, as earlier choices may become more efficient with added knowledge.
- Observe the room’s geometry before making the first move.
- Look for paths that let you combine push and pull actions to reduce overall steps.

Puzzle Strategy
Success depends on selecting the appropriate equipment for each action and minimizing total moves. Players are encouraged to experiment with different tactics and move combinations to discover optimized solutions for each room.
When a familiar approach stalls, the game suggests setting it aside and re‑examining the puzzle from a fresh perspective. Sharing efficient solutions with the community is highlighted as part of the experience.
- Record your move count after each attempt to track improvement.
- If stuck, pause and consider an alternative equipment order before proceeding.

Progression and Goals
Clearing a room with fewer steps than the standard count is presented as an achievement worth sharing. The game tracks progress through Steam Achievements and stores data via Steam Cloud, preserving progress for future reference.
Advanced goals focus on optimizing move counts across the entire non‑linear dungeon. Because rooms can be tackled in any order, players can prioritize those that best develop their equipment‑swap proficiency.
- Aim to meet the standard move count first, then refine for lower counts.
- Use Steam Cloud to retain your progress across installations.
