About DuneCrawl

DuneCrawl places players in a vast desert where a gigantic Crab Crawler serves as both transport and battlefield. Up to four players can join locally or online, while a single player can explore the same open world alone.

The world is filled with jar‑headed Vassals, swarms of bugs, island forts, secret dungeons, and loot piles. Players collect Masks, Tunics, and Talismans to unlock weapons and upgrades for both their character and the Dune Crawler.

01 / THE GUIDE

Co‑op and Solo Play

The game supports local and online co‑op for up to four players, allowing friends to share control of the Dune Crawler or split duties across split‑screen. Co-op play takes place across the same open world of quests and combat encounters.

Solo play lets a single player navigate the desert, complete quests, and engage enemies, with a bit of help from a ghostly companion.

  • Coordinate roles in co‑op so each player focuses on a specific task such as navigation or cannon fire.
  • When playing solo, plan routes ahead to avoid unnecessary backtracking.

02 / THE GUIDE

Open World Exploration

Players steer the Dune Crawler across endless dunes, visiting dozens of islands that host quests, secret dungeons, and loot caches. The description emphasizes wandering and collecting piles of loot as core incentives.

Island locations feature varied terrain and structures, providing multiple approaches to objectives and opportunities to discover hidden entrances or optional challenges.

  • Mark islands with notable landmarks to return later for unfinished quests.
  • Search for concealed entrances that lead to secret dungeons.

03 / THE GUIDE

Arsenal Upgrades

Collecting Masks, Tunics, and Talismans unlocks new player abilities and weapons such as the Buzzooka and Acid Harpoon, expanding combat options available to each character.

The Dune Crawler itself can receive upgrades like Spike‑Armoured legs and Guided Torpedoes, as well as cosmetic changes such as hats and paintjobs.

  • Try different weapon types to see how they handle close‑range bugs versus distant Vassals.
  • Compare crawler upgrades to find a balance between mobility and firepower.

04 / THE GUIDE

Crustacean Combat

Combat centers on manning the Dune Crawler’s cannons, steering the vehicle, and coordinating crew actions. Players can load cannonballs and operate the helm to engage other crawlers, bosses, and island fortresses.

Large enemies and fortified positions provide high‑stakes encounters where players can collect piles of loot.

  • Assign a dedicated cannon operator during tough fights for consistent fire.
  • Practice launching the crawler in a safe area before using it in combat.

05 / THE GUIDE

Bug Riding

Beyond the Crab Crawler, players can mount multi‑saddle Beetles, fast Nymphs, armored Scorpions, and Ball Bugs, providing alternative mobility across the desert and islands.

These mounts allow players to traverse quickly, flank enemies, or engage opposition in ways that differ from the larger crawler’s capabilities.

  • Use faster mounts like Nymphs for scouting distant locations.
  • Consider armored mounts when needing extra durability in combat.
