About Dune: Imperium

Dune: Imperium brings the award‑winning board game to PC, combining deck‑building with worker placement. Players act as Great House leaders, contesting the spice‑rich planet Arrakis over ten rounds of conflict that award resources or Victory Points.

Matches can be played online, against AI locally, or in the rotating Skirmish Mode. The title supports cross‑platform multiplayer, Steam Achievements, and full controller compatibility for DualShock and DualSense devices.

01 / THE GUIDE

Game Structure

Each match runs for ten rounds, with every round introducing a new Conflict that may grant resources or Victory Points. At the start of a round you draw five cards from your deck, which grows stronger as you acquire new cards.

A card can be used in one of two ways: send an Agent to collect resources, or reveal it at round end to purchase more powerful cards. Managing these two options each round is key to staying competitive.

  • Plan your Agent placements based on the upcoming Conflict’s rewards.
  • Balance card purchases with resource collection to keep your deck flexible.

02 / THE GUIDE

Faction Influence

Influence is tracked with four major factions: the Emperor, the Spacing Guild, the Bene Gesserit, and the Fremen. Gaining influence with a faction contributes Victory Points toward the final score.

Players may choose to court a faction for its benefits or ignore it to focus on other strategies. Influence levels can shift throughout the game as actions affect each faction’s standing.

  • Watch which faction offers the most immediate Victory Points for your current position.
  • Consider diversifying influence to avoid over‑reliance on a single faction.

03 / THE GUIDE

Skirmish Mode

Skirmish Mode rotates its objectives and conditions regularly, so each match presents a distinct set of goals. This variation prevents any two games from feeling identical.

Badges are awarded for meeting specific criteria within a Skirmish match, providing an extra layer of optional achievement beyond the standard Victory Points.

  • Read the current Skirmish modifiers before committing to a long‑term plan.
  • Align your early actions with badge criteria that match your preferred approach.

04 / THE GUIDE

Multiplayer Options

The game supports online PvP, local play against AI, and cross‑platform multiplayer between Windows and macOS. Family Sharing also allows multiple accounts to access the title on a single device.

Full controller support includes DualShock and DualSense compatibility, giving players the choice of keyboard/mouse or gamepad for input.

  • Test both controller and keyboard/mouse setups to find what feels most comfortable.
  • Coordinate with friends on different platforms to broaden matchmaking options.

05 / THE GUIDE

Progression and Rewards

Steam Achievements are available, and the game includes more than a dozen Challenges that test strategic decisions. Completing these optional goals showcases a player’s mastery.

As you acquire new cards, your deck becomes more powerful, reinforcing the sense of growth across the ten‑round match.

  • Select Challenges that complement your natural playstyle for smoother progress.
  • Use achievements as personal milestones to track improvement over multiple sessions.
