About Dumb Ways to Build
Dumb Ways to Build drops you into the chaotic construction sites of Dumbville, where physics‑driven tools let you grab, rotate, and fling objects to assemble precarious platforms, bridges, and ramps. Up to four players can cooperate online, or a single player can face the hazards alone.
Each map is a “Crisis Job” packed with deadly obstacles and hidden secrets. Players can personalize their Bean avatar with unlockable cosmetics, use proximity voice chat, and enjoy full controller support, camera comfort options, adjustable difficulty, and the ability to play without timed input.
01 / THE GUIDE
online-coop
The game supports 1‑4 player online co‑op, letting friends build together or a solo player tackle the jobsite alone. Every Crisis Job contains hazards that require coordinated tool use, making teamwork essential.
Communication is handled through proximity chat, so players can call out dangers or simply listen to the surrounding mayhem while constructing platforms and bridges.
- Assign each player a primary tool to reduce overlap.
- Use proximity chat to warn teammates of imminent hazards.
02 / THE GUIDE
physics-arsenal
An inventory of construction tools, wacky consumables, and makeshift materials can be grabbed, rotated, and thrown to create bridges, ramps, and other structures. The nail gun staples pieces together under the game’s physics.
These items can either help the crew or unintentionally derail them, encouraging experimental problem solving and creative use of the toolbox.
- Test how objects interact before committing to a build.
- Mix consumables with tools to discover unexpected effects.
