About Dragon's Dogma 2
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a single‑player, narrative‑driven action‑RPG that expands the fantasy world of its predecessor. Players design an Arisen, pick a vocation, and decide how to tackle combat, exploration, and NPC interactions.
The sequel introduces customizable Pawns that accompany the Arisen and can be shared via the network, while modern graphics, physics, and AI aim to make the solo adventure feel lively and immersive.
01 / THE GUIDE
Single‑Player Narrative
The game is described as a single‑player, narrative‑driven action‑RPG where the player controls an Arisen, selects appearance and vocation, and determines how to approach each situation. This structure lets the player shape a personal story within a shared fantasy setting.
Travelers, merchants, soldiers and other inhabitants act on their own motives and emotions. Occasionally they approach the Arisen to request a favor, which can launch a quest or provide information relevant to the narrative.
- Listen for NPC dialogue cues that hint at hidden quests.
- Vary your approach to see how different choices affect NPC reactions.

Vocations and Combat
Players can wield swords, bows, and chant magick, and each vocation offers a distinct way to engage enemies. The system encourages using the chosen vocation’s strengths to meet the demands of each encounter.
Combat also considers terrain and monster type, prompting players to adapt tactics such as using high ground or ranged attacks depending on the situation.
- Combine melee and ranged abilities to handle varied monster behaviors.
- Use environmental features like elevation to gain a tactical edge.

Pawn System
Each Arisen travels with a main Pawn that the player can customize; this Pawn remains with the Arisen throughout the adventure. The main Pawn’s equipment and abilities can be tuned to complement the Arisen’s vocation.
In addition, the player may form a covenant with up to two additional Pawns sourced from other players via the network, adding extra support while keeping the experience single‑player at its core.
- Equip your main Pawn with gear that fills gaps in your own combat style.
- Invite network Pawns that provide abilities you lack, such as healing or crowd control.

World and Monsters
Beyond the town limits, diverse monsters inhabit the landscape. Players must decide whether to engage directly or seek alternative tactics, taking into account party composition and terrain.
The world’s inhabitants pursue daily routines and may approach the Arisen with requests, offering quests or information that can influence how players confront the surrounding threats.
- Scout monster lairs from a distance before committing to battle.
- Adjust your party’s setup based on the dominant monster type in an area.
