Slime Edition Add‑Ons
The Digital Slime Edition for PC supplies eleven goopy Slime Weapons—such as Splat O'Nine Tails Slime‑On‑A‑Stick and Goomerang—and two bonus maps, including Gold‑Digger's Map. These items increase the weapon roster and provide distinct environments beyond the main story.
All added gear follows a slime theme, delivering visual variety without altering the underlying combat systems. The bonus maps offer additional environments to explore beyond the main story.

Story and Main Characters
A dark shockwave sweeps through Arba, causing monsters that once coexisted peacefully to enter a frenzied rage. Players assume the role of Luceus or Aurora to confront this chaos and work toward restoring order.
The party can include fan‑favorite characters from previous DRAGON QUEST titles—Alena, Bianca, Maya, and Yangus—each fully voiced, forming a four‑member team that accompanies the protagonist throughout the adventure.
- Observe how the shockwave narrative frames the monster aggression.
- Listen for character voice lines to identify each ally’s role in the story.

Party Formation and Swapping
Players assemble a party of four characters, mixing the chosen protagonist with legendary series figures. During battle, the system allows swapping between party members, enabling strategic use of each character’s unique spells and abilities.
Leveling up each character upgrades their spells, and timing swaps to match enemy patterns helps survive tougher encounters, emphasizing a strategy‑oriented approach to combat.
- Test different party combinations to see how abilities complement each other.
- Watch enemy behavior to decide the optimal moment for a character swap.

Monster Medals and Summons
Defeated foes drop monster medals, which can be collected and used to summon those monsters as allies. Up to 24 summoned monsters may fight alongside the player at any one time, adding extra firepower and special skills.
Summoned monsters retain their unique abilities, allowing players to tailor battlefield presence by selecting medals that best address the current challenge.
- Prioritize medals from monsters whose abilities match upcoming enemy types.
- Balance the number of summoned monsters to keep the screen readable.
