About Dobbel Dungeon

A magical shockwave curses the land, mutating wildlife into hostile monsters. Players must assemble a party of three heroes and venture into the wild to end the curse, rescuing additional heroes and gathering items along the way.

Each turn begins with a dice roll that fuels all actions. With enough dice an action always succeeds, while items and skills let players nudge dice, add dice, or modify abilities. Skill points earned from quests unlock deeper customisation across shared hero trees.

01 / THE GUIDE

Curse Narrative

The story opens with a mysterious curse that spreads a magical shockwave, turning ordinary wildlife into monstrous rebels. This event creates the central conflict that drives every adventure.

Players are motivated to explore, rescue heroes, and collect items in order to break the curse through repeated runs, each contributing to the overall narrative resolution.

  • Prioritise early quests that reveal lore about the curse.
  • Rescue heroes who may provide clues or useful abilities.

02 / THE GUIDE

Party Selection

At the start of each adventure, players choose three heroes, each offering a distinct skill set and playstyle. This initial lineup defines the tactical options available for the run.

During the journey, heroes can be rescued, expanding the pool for future selections and allowing varied team compositions across runs.

  • Combine heroes with complementary dice costs.
  • Consider later‑rescueable heroes when planning long‑term builds.

03 / THE GUIDE

Dice Mechanics

Characters roll dice at the start of their turn; the rolled dice are then spent to power actions. As long as the required dice are present, actions always succeed, removing hit‑or‑miss randomness.

Items and skills provide ways to ‘gently nudge’ dice, increase dice count, or alter outcomes, giving players strategic control over each turn.

  • Save dice‑nudging items for critical actions.
  • Plan turns around the dice you have rather than hoping for lucky rolls.

04 / THE GUIDE

Item & Skill Customisation

Quests and bonus objectives grant skill points that are shared across all heroes. Distributing points unlocks more powerful skills in each hero’s tree.

Items not only boost stats but can also add actions, passive effects, or modify skills, allowing players to tailor builds each run.

  • Invest early points in skills that increase dice generation.
  • Swap items that grant extra actions when you need more flexibility.

Platform & Accessibility Features

Dobbel Dungeon runs on Windows and offers full controller support, a mouse‑only option, and adjustable difficulty, letting players set a comfortable pace.

Additional Steam features include Achievements, Trading Cards, Cloud saves, Family Sharing, and custom volume controls, while a “playable without timed input” mode removes pressure from each decision.

  • Enable mouse‑only mode for precise dice management.
  • Adjust difficulty to match your strategic comfort level.
