About Diggles: The Myth of Fenris
Diggles: The Myth of Fenris puts you in charge of an underground dwarf clan called Diggles. Odin chose them to rid the world of Fenris, so you must develop each Diggle’s unique skills, keep them fed, and provide leisure activities while expanding tunnels.
The game blends adventure storytelling with strategic colony building. Over 40 humor‑filled quests, a technology tree with more than 50 production sites, 20 tools, and seven resources give depth, and the original engine now runs on Windows 7 or later without DRM or FPS caps.
01 / THE GUIDE
clan-development
Each Diggle is distinct because “Odin made sure no Diggle is the same.” You assign varied skills and combat techniques, allowing the clan to mine, harvest mushrooms, and fight enemies as needed.
Leisure options such as bowling, disco, and pub trips are listed as activities for Diggles. Providing these while managing work creates a balanced routine that supports colony growth.
- Compare the skill sets of your Diggles to ensure you have both resource gathering and combat coverage.
- Allocate leisure time after major production upgrades to keep the routine varied.
02 / THE GUIDE
production-resources
The colony features over 50 production sites, a technology tree, and 20 production tools. Gathering seven different resources lets you craft items and advance the settlement.
Mastering the combination of tools and sites is required to keep Diggles fed and equipped for the challenges described in the game’s premise.
- Identify which resources are scarce and prioritize unlocking tools that process them.
- Track which production sites you have opened to avoid redundant research.

03 / THE GUIDE
quests-story
More than 40 quests feature hand‑crafted cutscenes full of humor, dwarfy attitude, and “gnomish problems.” Each quest follows the Diggles as they pursue Odin’s goal of defeating Fenris.
The cutscenes and dialogue give context to the underground world and introduce rival clans, adding narrative depth to the strategic gameplay.
- Watch each cutscene for hints about resource locations or upcoming challenges.
- Note recurring characters; they often reappear in later quests.
04 / THE GUIDE
technical-compatibility
The game runs on Windows 7 or later and does not use legacy DRM, FPS locks, or additional setup steps. Only a few DirectX 11 settings are available for adjustment.
Because the story, visuals, and gameplay remain unchanged, the technical update simply ensures the original 20‑year‑old engine works on modern operating systems.
- Confirm your PC meets the “Windows 7 or later” requirement before installing.
- Adjust DirectX 11 options only if you notice performance issues.
05 / THE GUIDE
steam-features
Diggles supports single‑player mode, Steam Achievements, Trading Cards, Steam Cloud, and Family Sharing. These features integrate the title into the Steam ecosystem while keeping the core experience unchanged.
Steam Cloud provides optional save synchronization, and Family Sharing lets other accounts on the same library launch the game without a separate purchase.
- Enable Steam Cloud in the game’s properties to keep progress safe across reinstallations.
- Collect Trading Cards if you enjoy completing the Steam showcase; they do not affect gameplay.
