About Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles
Demon Slayer – Kimtsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles lets players experience key anime moments, from Tanjiro’s entry into the Demon Slayer Corps through the Mugen Train arc, using full‑3D battle techniques. The title presents these scenes in a single‑player format that follows the series’ narrative order.
A roster of 24 fighters—including protagonists, demons and Academy variants—can be selected for Versus battles. The game supports online PvP, split‑screen play, full controller input, Steam achievements, cloud saves and other Steam‑linked features.
01 / THE GUIDE
Story Mode
Story Mode follows Tanjiro Kamado from his recruitment into the Demon Slayer Corps through the events of the Mugen Train movie, recreating each arc with 3‑D visuals that match the anime’s iconic techniques. The mode is presented as a single‑player experience and does not require additional content to progress.
Each segment mirrors a specific episode or movie scene, allowing players to watch familiar moments while controlling the protagonist. The mode’s structure is linear, moving from one scripted set piece to the next as described in the product description.
- Observe the on‑screen visual cues that signal upcoming enemy attacks.
- Take note of the timing of each technique to align your inputs with the animation.
02 / THE GUIDE
Versus Mode
Versus Mode lets any of the 24 fighters clash, including heroes like Tanjiro and demons such as Rui and Akaza. Character Unlocks grant immediate access to these fighters for head‑to‑head battles, and the roster can be expanded via edition bonuses.
The mode supports online PvP, split‑screen play and full controller support, enabling friends to compete locally or over the internet without needing extra purchases.
- Experiment with characters that have contrasting move sets to discover varied match dynamics.
- Use split‑screen to compare reaction times between two players on the same system.

03 / THE GUIDE
Character Unlocks
Unlocks are delivered through the Character Pass or edition‑specific bonuses, providing immediate playability in Versus mode. The Ultimate Edition, for example, adds Kimetsu Academy versions of Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu and Inosuke.
Kimetsu Points can be exchanged for in‑game rewards; eight thousand points unlock access to two characters, as noted in the edition content details.
- Check your Kimetsu Points balance before attempting to unlock additional characters.
- Compare Academy variants with their base counterparts to notice visual differences.

Costumes and Avatars
Each edition includes in‑game costumes such as the Butterfly Mansion Patient Wear for Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Inosuke, usable in Versus matches. Avatars for many characters are also provided for profile customization.
These visual items are based on the 3‑D models created by CyberConnect2 and are included as part of the edition’s bonus content.
- Select a costume that contrasts with arena lighting for clearer visibility.
- Use avatars to personalize your online profile during matchmaking.

Online Features
Online play requires the latest patch and includes PvP matchmaking, Steam Achievements and Remote Play Together. Steam Cloud stores progress, while Family Sharing allows other accounts to launch the title.
Shared/Split Screen PvP lets two players compete on one system, and Remote Play Together extends that experience to a second player over the internet.
- Verify your patch version before joining online lobbies.
- Enable Remote Play Together for a seamless couch‑co‑op session with a distant friend.
