About Democratic Socialism Simulator
Democratic Socialism Simulator puts you in the role of the United States’ first socialist president. You must enact reforms, tax the rich, and address climate change while keeping voters and the budget afloat.
Each playthrough lasts about twenty‑to‑thirty minutes, uses a swipe‑card UI, and ends with one of several possible outcomes based on the policies you choose.

Tinder‑style Interface
The game presents policy proposals as cards that you swipe left or right, mirroring the dating app Tinder’s layout. This visual format replaces deep menus and lets you accept or reject ideas with a single gesture.
Swiping directly translates to a concrete decision, so the impact of each policy is visible without navigating sub‑screens. The design aims at casual players and those new to simulation games.
- Observe the card text before swiping to gauge its effect.
- Try a few quick swipes to get a feel for the pacing.

Session Duration
A single game typically lasts about 20‑30 minutes, making it suitable for short play sessions. The limited time forces concise strategic choices.
Because each run is brief, you can start multiple attempts in one sitting to test different policy mixes without a large time commitment.
- Plan a core objective before the timer begins.
- Use the short window to experiment with extreme policies.

Policy Choices
Hundreds of decisions are drawn from real‑world policy proposals, covering taxation, climate action, and economic reform. Each card reflects an existing idea.
Scenarios are randomly generated, so playthroughs can unfold differently, keeping each session fresh.
- Read each proposal for context before swiping.
- Balance radical moves with voter sentiment to avoid early failure.

Character Cast
The game features a cast of extremely opinionated anthropomorphic animals that represent various political factions and interest groups. Their dialogue reacts to your policy choices.
Animal reactions provide immediate feedback and can shift the narrative direction, adding personality to the simulation without extra mechanics.
- Notice which animals support or oppose each card.
- Track changes in animal tone as the game progresses.

Multiple Endings
The combination of policies you enact determines which of several endings you receive, reflecting the success or failure of your socialist agenda.
Multiple endings encourage replayability, allowing you to explore alternative strategies and see how different policy clusters affect the final outcome.
- Aim for contrasting policy mixes across runs.
- Record each ending description for later comparison.
