About Deceit

Deceit is a multiplayer first‑person shooter that pits six players against each other in a trust‑driven battle of survival. One‑third of the group become infected with a deadly virus and must eliminate the remaining innocents.

Innocents navigate three zones, collect items, and vote out suspected infected while the infected gather blood and transform during blackout periods. The game blends fast combat, strategic decision‑making, and psychological mind games about who to trust.

Gameplay Mechanics

Players awaken to the Game Master’s voice and must quickly assess their surroundings. Movement, shooting, and item interaction are core actions as the match progresses.

Each match features a blackout at the end of a zone, during which infected players change into a terror form that is faster, stronger, and has enhanced vision, allowing them to hunt innocents more effectively.

  • Watch for changes in player speed and vision during blackouts to identify infected.
  • Stay mobile during blackouts to reduce the chance of being caught by a terror form.

02 / THE GUIDE

Player Roles

A third of the six participants become infected and are tasked with taking down the innocents. Infected players collect blood and sabotage, while innocents must survive and escape.

Innocents work together to gather weapons, secure objectives, and vote out suspected infected, using information from player behavior and item choices to guide decisions.

  • Communicate observations about suspicious behavior to help coordinate votes.
  • Infected should blend with innocents early to avoid early detection.

Zones and Blackout

The map is divided into three zones that innocents must traverse to reach the safety hatch. Progression through zones reveals new items and challenges.

When a zone ends, a blackout triggers, granting infected players a temporary terror form. This period shifts the pace, forcing innocents to either hide or rush toward the exit before the next zone begins.

  • Plan routes through each zone before the blackout to minimize exposure.
  • Use the blackout to regroup with trusted teammates.

Items and Survival

Scattered throughout the map are weapons and other items that can aid innocents. Choosing which items to pick up influences both personal safety and group dynamics.

Every item decision provides clues about teammates’ intentions, as players may compete or cooperate to obtain valuable gear, affecting trust and suspicion levels.

  • Prioritize weapons that suit your playstyle to stay effective in combat.
  • Observe who contests items; frequent disputes may signal infection.
