About Deadside
Deadside is an open‑world survival shooter where players gather loot, build bases and travel by foot or vehicle. Progression is tied to skill and equipment rather than levels, and players can store gear in safe zones or personal fortresses. The game offers three server styles—PvP, PvE and scheduled raid PvP—each with its own rules for combat and base raiding. A fast‑travel metro, boats, cars and motorcycles let you move quickly across the post‑Soviet landscape.

Server Types
Deadside provides three main server categories: PvP, PvE and PvP scheduled raids. In PvP servers players can fight freely and raid any base without limits. PvE servers are described as a more relaxed environment where players cannot fight or raid each other’s bases, making them suitable for learning the game. Scheduled raid servers allow raiding only at specific times, adding a timed element to PvP conflict. Across all server types a player’s character disappears when offline, taking any loot on their body with them.
- Try PvE first to understand mechanics before entering PvP combat.
- Check the raid schedule in advance to plan attacks on scheduled‑raid servers.

Vehicles & Fast Travel
Movement is not limited to walking; the game includes cars, motorcycles, boats and a metro‑based fast travel system. Vehicles can be secured with codelocks, which also allow them to serve as storage for loot. Fast travel lets players quickly reach distant map areas without long foot journeys. These transport options reduce the need for constant running and give players flexibility in how they explore the world or return to their bases.
- Use codelocks on vehicles to protect valuable items while traveling.
- Combine fast travel with vehicle use for efficient long‑range movement.

Base Building & Comfort System
Players can construct secluded shacks or fortified bases anywhere outside settlements using an intuitive building tool. Bases can be equipped with passive defenses such as turrets and traps, and they provide storage for vehicles and loot, keeping items safe from raiders. Comfort items are also available and grant gameplay boosts, adding a strategic layer to base placement and design.
- Place turrets at choke points to maximize defensive coverage.
- Add comfort items that boost stats to make your base more than just storage.

World Exploration
The map features forests, rivers and settlements set in a post‑Soviet apocalypse. Players may build bases anywhere outside settlements and encounter challenging NPC patrols. Progression depends on personal skill and the equipment acquired, as there are no explicit level bars. Exploration rewards players with loot and opportunities to engage in events or raids, encouraging movement across the varied terrain.
- Scout NPC patrol routes before establishing a base nearby.
- Use the metro fast travel to quickly revisit distant points of interest.

Weapons & Combat System
Deadside offers 32 firearms that can be customized with scopes, extended magazines, flashlights, silencers and other modules. Players can also set up tripwire traps, respawn bags and use smoke grenades for tactical cover. The combat system is described as hardcore and focused on ballistics. Missions are marked clearly on the map with objectives, providing structured goals within the open world while maintaining the shooter’s intense combat feel.
- Experiment with different weapon mods to find the best ballistic performance for your playstyle.
- Utilize smoke grenades and traps to create defensive advantages during raids.
