About Dead Signal

In *Dead Signal* you work a night shift for the shadowy organization ViVEX, monitoring a network of hacked cameras across an apartment complex. Your task is to watch 23 feeds, spot anomalies, and file reports to meet an hourly quota.

The job also forces you onto the roof via a short elevator ride to fix satellite links and deliver dubious packages. While you juggle camera duties, you must also protect your own apartment from intruders, locking it down with a keypad code before the sunrise.

01 / THE GUIDE

Monitoring the 23 Cameras

Throughout the night you are required to keep an eye on all twenty‑three cameras. The game presents each feed and expects you to watch for any differences that arise.

Spotting these changes and selecting the correct report category contributes directly to reaching your hourly quota, which is essential for staying employed.

  • Focus on one feed at a time before scanning the next.
  • Compare current visuals with earlier moments to notice subtle shifts.

02 / THE GUIDE

Reporting Differences

When an anomaly appears you must choose the appropriate report category. Correct categorisation helps you fulfill the quota set by your employer, The Shade.

Incorrect reports waste time and may jeopardise your shift, so accuracy is rewarded over speed.

  • Read each category description before selecting.
  • If unsure, pause and review the footage again.

03 / THE GUIDE

Remote Repairs & Connection Errors

Occasionally the system will present satellite connection errors or camera malfunctions. These require immediate attention and are handled through remote camera repairs or by accessing the roof for connection errors.

Fixing these issues restores the feed, allowing you to continue monitoring without losing valuable reporting time.

  • Respond to repair needs promptly to limit downtime.
  • Keep an eye on error notifications for quick response.

04 / THE GUIDE

Roof Access & Package Delivery

To address technical problems or deliver questionable packages you must ride a short elevator to the roof. The elevator connects directly from your apartment, making the trip brief.

While on the roof you can fix satellite links and handle questionable packages, tying the two responsibilities to the same destination.

  • Plan repairs and deliveries together to minimise trips.
  • Keep roof trips brief to limit time away from your cameras.

05 / THE GUIDE

Survival & Apartment Security

Your own apartment is never safe; leaving it unlocked can let uninvited guests in. When you return you must input a generated keypad code to lock up.

Balancing camera duties with personal safety is the only way to survive the night and see the sunrise.

  • Lock the door immediately after each roof trip.
  • Keep the generated code in mind to reduce input time.
