About Day of Dragons
Day of Dragons is an online creature‑survival sandbox where each player starts as a hatchling that must eat, drink, and grow into an adult dragon. The world is a large, beautiful map that includes forests, deserts, lava fields, swamps, grasslands, and caves.
Players join dedicated Steam servers, can form or join clans, and later pursue an Alpha‑dragon or the mysterious Elemental class. Each dragon species offers distinct abilities such as flight, fire‑breathing, acid spitting, plasma shooting, or invisibility, and all flight follows a physics‑based system.
01 / THE GUIDE
Dragon Species & Abilities
The game lists several dragon species, each with its own stat range and a set of special abilities. Abilities include fire breath, acid spit, plasma shots, invisibility, and varied movement options such as walking, running, swimming, or flying.
These species differences affect how a dragon survives and its potential to become an Alpha dragon after reaching adulthood. Players can compare species to decide which set of abilities aligns with their preferred approach to exploration or combat.
- Observe how each ability interacts with different biomes before committing to a species.
- Try multiple species in separate sessions to see which stat profile feels most comfortable.

Growth and Survival
New hatchlings must locate food and water to survive, and consistent feeding drives growth toward the adult stage. Growth influences size and the ability to pursue later stages such as Alpha dragons.
Dragons can lay eggs that other players may hatch; each egg inherits stats from its parents, while random spawns provide varied starting attributes. Managing nutrition and avoiding hazards are essential steps toward adulthood.
- Prioritize safe feeding zones early to ensure steady growth.
- Track your dragon’s stats after hatching to anticipate strengths and weaknesses.

Clans and Social Play
Players may create or join clans that include chat, leadership roles, and other clan features. Clans enable coordinated gathering and group attacks against rival groups.
Clan membership also shapes PvP dynamics, as other dragons may target high‑profile Alpha or Elemental members. Clear communication within a clan can improve overall survival chances.
- Establish clear leadership to streamline decisions during PvP encounters.
- Use clan chat to coordinate feeding and nesting locations for mutual benefit.

Physics‑Based Flight
Dragons can fly using a realistic physics system described as easy to learn but difficult to master. Flight enables rapid traversal across biomes, escape from predators, and strategic positioning in combat.
Mastering lift, thrust, and momentum can give a tactical edge, especially when navigating confined spaces such as caves or hazardous areas like lava fields where ground movement is risky.
- Practice in open biomes before attempting flight in confined areas.
- Practice controlling lift and momentum to improve maneuverability.

Elemental Class Unlock
After reaching adulthood, players can pursue a mystery that may unlock the Elemental, an alpha‑class playable character. Elementals are described as being hunted by every other dragon on the server.
Becoming an Elemental shifts focus from growth to survival against aggressive opponents, emphasizing strategic positioning and the use of unique abilities that differ from standard dragon species.
- Plan a secure nesting area before attempting the Elemental unlock.
- Watch for increased PvP activity once you become an Elemental.
