About Dawnsbury Days
Dawnsbury Days is a turn‑based tactical RPG that follows the PF2E tabletop rules. You lead the Dawnsbury Four, a group of childhood friends, through a four‑hour main adventure and optional extra encounters. The game blends strategic combat, deep character building, and a fully voiced narrative.
The base title caps characters at level 4, with DLC raising the cap to 9 and a future expansion to 15. It is single‑player only, though Steam Remote Play Together lets friends share a session, and a robust modding system adds custom content via the Steam Workshop.
01 / THE GUIDE
Turn‑Based Tactical Combat
Combat unfolds on grid‑based battlefields where each character receives three actions per turn. Actions include moving, attacking, casting spells, drinking potions, or using maneuvers, and you can preview success probabilities before committing.
Encounters are balanced but often difficult; effective play rewards buffs, flanking, and demoralizing foes over simply stacking attacks, especially on higher difficulties. All combat is fully voiced and cutscenes separate each encounter, with animations designed to be fast and skippable.
- Use the preview to compare attack odds before spending actions.
- Prioritize positioning for flanking to reduce enemy penalties.

Deep Character Customization
At level one you select ancestry, heritage, background, class, subclass, ability scores, skills, feats, spells, and items. Level‑up grants additional feats and, for spellcasters, more spells, allowing continual refinement.
The game offers nine ancestries and seventeen classes, over 300 feats and 450 spells, plus pre‑generated characters that can level automatically for quick play.
- Experiment with different ancestries to discover unique skill synergies.
- Consider pre‑gen characters for a fast start before customizing.

Story and Setting
The narrative follows the Dawnsbury Four as they seek the lost Golden Candelabra, a protective artifact stolen during the Night of the Shooting Stars seven years prior. Their quest reveals a volcanic threat, dwindling aid, and kobold brigands.
Full voice acting delivers every line, with cinematic cutscenes at the start and end of each encounter, creating a cohesive, story‑driven experience that can be played on easy difficulty for a relaxed tale.
- Listen to cutscenes for hints about hidden objectives.
- Select easy difficulty if you prefer story over challenge.

Modding and Steam Workshop
Dawnsbury Days supports custom maps, encounters, classes, ancestries, feats, spells, and rule variants. Over 100 mods are already available, and documentation for creating new content is included with the game and on the Steam community hub.
Mods can introduce new challenges, unique enemies, or entirely new rules, extending replayability beyond the base and DLC scenarios.
- Browse the Workshop for community‑made encounters to test new strategies.
- Use the included documentation if you want to craft your own mods.

Single‑Player and Remote Play Together
The core game is single‑player, but Steam Remote Play Together lets a host share the session so friends can control characters with their own keyboards and mice. The in‑game GM mode lets a player manually direct enemy actions instead of using AI.
This setup preserves the solo experience while offering a cooperative feel without requiring a separate multiplayer mode.
- Enable GM mode for a friend who wants to act as the dungeon master.
- Use Remote Play Together for local‑co‑op style sessions.
