About Curse That Magic Cat!

Curse That Magic Cat! puts you in the paws of a cursed feline trapped inside Magnus the Wizard’s mansion. Your task is to locate three spell books per level, break a few things for fun, and avoid the wizard’s search as you plot your escape.

The game offers single‑player play, full controller support, Steam achievements and family‑sharing, and was created by SMU Guildhall’s student capstone team over a 14‑week cycle. No further development is planned beyond this academic release.

01 / THE GUIDE

Gameplay Premise

You control a cat cursed by Magnus the Wizard, and each level requires you to collect three spell books before you can leave the area. The core loop mixes exploration with the need to stay out of the wizard’s sight.

While you search, Magnus moves around the mansion, creating moments where you must hide, dash, or cause mischief to keep the wizard from catching you and to progress toward the exit.

  • Watch Magnus’s movement to choose safe windows for retrieving a spell book.
  • Use the cat’s ability to slip under furniture for hidden routes.
