About Cookard

Cookard is a casual indie simulation where you manage a restaurant by stacking and moving cards. Ingredient cards are dragged onto utensil cards to complete recipes, and finished dishes are served to customers by matching dish cards with customer cards.

As you progress you can buy ingredients, trade items, complete quests for new utensils and recipes, hire workers to generate electricity, and unlock automation tools like a magnet to move cards more efficiently. The game is single‑player and supports family sharing on Windows and macOS.

01 / THE GUIDE

Card‑Based Recipe Workflow

Each dish is built by dragging specific ingredient cards—such as Egg, Dough, or Honey—onto appropriate utensil cards like Oven or Stove. The required steps and ingredients are listed in the Recipes section for reference.

When a customer appears, a Customer card is placed on a Table card, revealing the desired dish. You then place the completed dish card on top of the customer to serve it before the timer expires.

  • Check the Recipes section early to familiarize yourself with ingredient‑to‑utensil pairings.
  • Arrange your most‑used utensil cards near the ingredient deck for quicker access.

02 / THE GUIDE

Buying and Trading Ingredients

Ingredients are purchased by placing a Coins card onto a Store or Fruit Stall card. This supplies the necessary stock for upcoming recipes.

Unneeded items can be sold at the Trade House for coins, and you may also trade items to obtain additional tables, ovens, or other equipment.

  • Keep a small reserve of Coins cards to avoid pauses when buying.
  • Periodically visit the Trade House to convert excess cards into useful resources.

Quests and Rewards

Completing quests grants rewards that often include new utensils and recipes, expanding the range of dishes you can prepare.

These additions help diversify your menu and can make serving customers faster by providing more efficient cooking tools.

  • Prioritize quests that reward new utensils to streamline later recipes.
  • Track which recipes you lack and select quests that unlock them.

04 / THE GUIDE

Hiring Workers and Automation

Workers can be placed on a Running Wheel to generate electricity, reducing the need for manual actions like operating a Water Pump or Hand Crank.

Later you can unlock a magnet tool that pulls cards from one location to another, further easing the repetitive card‑moving tasks.

  • Assign workers early to free up time for cooking.
  • Experiment with the magnet after unlocking to see how it speeds up card handling.

05 / THE GUIDE

Platform Availability

Cookard runs on Windows and macOS computers, offering a single‑player experience that can be shared with family members through the platform’s sharing feature.

Linux is not listed as a supported operating system, so the game is unavailable on that platform.

  • Verify your OS version matches the supported Windows or macOS builds.
  • Use family sharing to let multiple household members enjoy the game without separate purchases.
