About Contraband Police
Contraband Police places you in 1981 Karikatka, a border post of the Acarist People’s Republic. As a trainee officer you must enforce strict entry rules, stop contraband, and respond to hostile threats while managing the post’s resources.
The single‑player experience mixes action, adventure and simulation elements such as document checks, vehicle pursuits, shootouts, and post upgrades. Full controller support, Steam achievements and cloud saves round out the presentation.
01 / THE GUIDE
Document Control
Every traveler must present a complete set of valid documents; even the smallest mistake results in denial of entry. This rule forms the first line of defense against illegal crossings and directly affects the station’s reputation.
As the game progresses the required paperwork expands, making discrepancies harder to spot. Careful inspection therefore becomes increasingly important for maintaining cash flow from successful inspections.
- Prioritise the most common fields to catch obvious errors quickly.
- If a document looks borderline, double‑check before granting entry.
02 / THE GUIDE
Smuggling Detection
Intelligence reports flag suspicious drivers, prompting you to search their vehicles with a UV flashlight. After illumination you must use the appropriate tools to extract any hidden contraband.
Each successful detection yields cash and contributes to the station’s ability to fund upgrades, reinforcing the border’s overall security.
- Always use the UV flashlight on flagged vehicles to avoid missing hidden items.
- Keep extraction tools ready before beginning a vehicle search.

03 / THE GUIDE
Shootouts
The post is repeatedly targeted by Oberankov’s gang, and every away mission carries the risk of a clash. In these moments you must defend the station with firearms.
Firearm engagements are unpredictable, so staying alert and managing ammunition are essential to survive each encounter.
- Conserve ammunition for prolonged engagements.
- Stay aware of enemy positions to react quickly.

Police Chases
Desperate smugglers may flee the control zone, requiring you to pursue and arrest them. Successful arrests are rewarded with cash and help deter future attempts.
Purchasing and upgrading police cars improves the effectiveness of these pursuits, allowing you to stop more smugglers over time.
- Upgrade police cars when you notice repeated escape attempts.
- Plan routes that cut off likely escape paths.

Post Management
Upgrading the police station raises its defenses and streamlines later inspections. Each upgrade, however, increases the cost of maintaining the post.
Cash earned from inspections, foiled smuggling and interventions can be allocated to these upgrades, but you must balance income against rising expenses.
- Invest in defensive upgrades after a series of successful interceptions.
- Monitor maintenance costs to avoid budget shortfalls.
