About Command & Conquer Remastered Collection
Command & Conquer™ Remastered Collection reunites the original Command & Conquer and Red Alert titles with a 4K visual overhaul created by former Westwood Studios staff at Petroglyph Games. All three expansion packs, a rebuilt multiplayer system, and a modernized UI are included, delivering the classic RTS experience with contemporary polish.
Beyond graphics, the collection adds a full map editor, Steam Workshop mod support, a bonus gallery of unreleased FMV footage, and over seven hours of remastered music by Frank Klepacki. These additions give players both nostalgic fidelity and new creative tools.
01 / THE GUIDE
Graphics Switching
While playing solo missions, you can toggle between the original legacy graphics and the new 4K remaster in real time. The switch occurs without restarting the mission, letting you compare visual detail instantly.
This feature is limited to solo play, ensuring that multiplayer matches keep a consistent visual setting for all participants.
- Switch graphics during a quiet moment to notice detail changes without disrupting combat.
- Use the legacy view if you need to verify unit silhouettes you remember from the original.

Map Editor
The collection provides a Map Editor on both Origin and Steam versions, allowing you to design terrain, place structures, and set unit spawn points. Created maps can be shared through the Steam Workshop.
The editor works with the redesigned Sidebar UI and includes in‑game tooltips and hotkey customization, helping you build and test maps efficiently.
- Start with a small test map to learn the editor’s controls before tackling larger designs.
- Check the in‑game tooltips for quick explanations of each editing function.

Custom Game Lobbies
Custom Game Lobbies let you host or join matches where you can set game rules, choose teams, and select from over 250 multiplayer maps. Lobbies integrate with Steam friends lists for easy matchmaking.
Lobby settings also allow you to enable or disable specific gameplay options, tailoring each match to the group’s preferences. Quickmatches provide 1v1 ranking climbs toward the leaderboard.
- Create a lobby with a clear rule set to avoid confusion among participants.
- Use quickmatch mode to practice and improve your ranking before entering custom games.

All tracks are accessible in the bonus gallery, which also contains unreleased FMV footage and making‑of material, providing a comprehensive audio‑visual archive.
- Create a playlist of your favorite tracks to keep the mood consistent across long sessions.
- Explore the bonus gallery for hidden music tracks that aren’t in the default playlist.

Voice‑over options include English, French, and German, while text localization covers seven languages (French, German, Russian, Spanish, Polish, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese).
- Adjust hotkeys to match your preferred hand placement for faster unit commands.
- Enable subtitles if you’re playing in a language different from the voice‑over.
