Command & Conquer™ Red Alert™ 3 drops players into an alternate World War III where the Soviet Union, the Allies, and the newly risen Empire of the Rising Sun battle for dominance. A failed Soviet time‑travel mission reshapes technology, spawning oddities such as Tesla coils, War Blimps, armored bears and transforming tanks.

Story premise

A desperate Soviet leadership travels back in time to alter history, but the mission fails and creates an alternate timeline. In this new world three superpowers—Soviets, Allies, and the Empire of the Rising Sun—vie for control of a raging World War III.

The altered timeline fuels a clash of technologies that evolved along different paths, giving each faction access to bizarre weapons and devices that shape the campaign’s narrative and objectives.

  • Note how the time‑travel premise explains the presence of unusual units.
