About Clandestine
Clandestine is a stealth‑hacking title set in 1996, five years after the Soviet Union dissolved. Players follow field operative Katya Kozlova or hacker Martin Symborski as they investigate a post‑Cold War espionage conspiracy that stretches across Europe and North America.
The game offers single‑player and an asymmetrical co‑op mode, with lethal enemies and a narrative that reacts to the amount of evidence left behind. Steam achievements, cloud saves, family sharing and partial controller support are included.
01 / THE GUIDE
Asymmetrical Co‑op
In the two‑player mode one participant controls Katya, the Spy, while another guides her as Martin, the Hacker. The Spy handles movement, takedowns and equipment searches, while the Hacker manipulates cameras, networks and supplies through a dedicated interface.
Co‑op dialogue sequences let the Hacker use social engineering to bypass security checkpoints, allowing the Spy to move forward without triggering alarms.
- Plan social‑engineering attempts when the Spy is out of enemy sight.
- Communicate clearly about checkpoint status to avoid unnecessary exposure.

Spy Mechanics
Katya is presented in third‑person view and can use weapons, gadgets and hand‑to‑hand combat. Players may perform lethal or non‑lethal stealth takedowns, aiming to leave as little evidence as possible.
During missions the Spy can search for dossiers and intel, which unlock new equipment and software for later missions, encouraging careful exploration while staying hidden.
- Choose non‑lethal takedowns when you want to minimise evidence.
- Inspect rooms for hidden dossiers to expand future gear options.

Hacker Interface
The Hacker works from four windows: Camera Feed, Console, Network View, and Tactical Map. The Camera Feed shows Katya’s hidden camera and other surveillance sources; the Console lists objectives and prints messages such as cracked keypad codes.
Network View lets the Hacker interact with door keypads, PCs, servers, firewalls and hazards. An enemy AI called the Network Admin monitors changes, can eject the Hacker, and resets defenses; Viruses and DDoS attacks can distract it.
- Watch for Network Admin alerts to avoid being kicked out of the network.
- Deploy a virus before a major firewall breach to buy extra time.

Tactical Map Tools
Through the Tactical Map the Hacker can provide direct support: accessing additional cameras, tagging enemies, dropping ammo or health, cleaning up bodies, cancelling alarms, and even bribing enemies. These actions do not require the Spy to have line‑of‑sight.
These tools let the Spy move through areas with reduced risk, as the Hacker can pre‑emptively neutralise threats or supply resources that keep the Spy concealed.
- Tag high‑value enemies early to give the Spy clear situational awareness.
- Use the clean‑up function after a takedown to lower the evidence count.

Story Reactivity
Clandestine tracks how much evidence the team leaves behind—bodies, dead enemies and data leaks—and the narrative responds accordingly. The joint CIA‑FSB task force’s investigation evolves based on those player actions.
Because the story adapts, players must consider the consequences of violent or careless hacking choices, as they can influence mission briefings and later dialogue.
- Aim for silent takedowns to keep the story’s response favourable.
- Limit unnecessary network disruptions to avoid triggering extra alarms.
