About Citizen Sleeper

Citizen Sleeper is a tabletop‑inspired narrative RPG set on Erlin’s Eye, a decaying space‑station teeming with thousands of survivors. You play a digitised consciousness, a “sleeper,” owned by a corporation that wants you back, and must navigate factions, forge friendships, and earn a living each cycle.

The game uses dice, clocks and drives to let you shape the story, develop five skills, and eventually hack the station’s cloud for hidden data and new areas. All three post‑launch DLC episodes—Flux, Refuge and Purge—add characters and late‑game locations.

01 / THE GUIDE

Dice, Clocks & Drives System

Each cycle you roll the dice you are dealt and assign them to a wide range of actions on the station. The allocation of dice determines the success of tasks such as repairing, negotiating, or hacking. Clocks track both your progress and the actions of others, letting you see how your choices affect the world. Drives replace traditional quests, letting you follow personal motivations rather than preset objectives.

  • Observe how clocks fill to gauge which story threads are advancing fastest.
  • Allocate dice to actions that align with your current drives for smoother progress.

02 / THE GUIDE

Five Skill Categories

Your character develops five skills—Engineer, Interface, Endure, Intuit and Engage—through actions taken each cycle. As you use a skill, it improves, unlocking perks and bonuses that reflect your playstyle. These skill upgrades influence how you interact with the station’s systems, NPCs, and challenges, shaping the narrative outcomes you experience.

  • Focus on a single skill early to unlock its perks more quickly.
  • Mix skill use to keep multiple narrative options open.

03 / THE GUIDE

Factions and Alliances

Erlin’s Eye hosts diverse groups—salvagers, engineers, hackers, bartenders, and street‑food vendors—each with their own histories. You can choose which individuals to help, influencing alliances and the station’s power balance. Your actions affect faction clocks, showing how your relationships evolve and how they may protect or oppose you in future cycles.

  • Track faction clocks to anticipate potential support or conflict.
  • Helping a variety of groups can provide safety nets across cycles.

04 / THE GUIDE

Hacking the Station Cloud

As you progress, you learn to use dice to hack the station’s cloud, granting access to decades of digital data. This unlocks new areas, secrets, and story fragments that expand the world. Cloud hacking serves as a unique power that can alter your future options, revealing corporate secrets and hidden locations.

  • Prioritize dice allocation to hacking when new data zones appear.
  • Review unlocked data for clues about upcoming narrative branches.

Post‑Launch DLC Episodes

The game includes three DLC episodes—Flux, Refuge and Purge—that add characters, locations, and a late‑game storyline. These expansions deepen the narrative and introduce fresh challenges. Each episode integrates with the core mechanics, allowing you to apply existing dice, clocks, and skill systems to new content.

  • Play DLC after establishing core skills for smoother adaptation.
  • Explore new locations early to see what additional content they offer.
