About Chronigma
Chronigma is a single‑player puzzle adventure that starts with classic sokoban mechanics and adds time‑travel tools at Level 6. Players control Cygnus, recording actions, then traveling back to cooperate with a past self to solve each challenge.
The game offers 60+ handcrafted levels, a text‑driven story about the Time War, and a Minimal Story mode for pure puzzles. It is completely free, runs on Windows and macOS, and supports Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch controllers natively.
01 / THE GUIDE
Time Manipulation Mechanics
From Level 6 onward, Chronigma introduces a device that records your moves, lets you travel back, and creates a "Past Self" that repeats the recorded actions while you act again. This enables solutions that a single character cannot achieve.
Puzzles grow in difficulty as you must coordinate two timelines, ensuring the present and past selves do not interfere with each other while completing the objective.
- Start with short recordings to see how the past self repeats actions.
- Watch the playback to spot safe moments for both selves to occupy the same space.

Story and Minimal Story Modes
Chronigma delivers a text narrative about the Time War, a father‑son training program, and a world on the brink of collapse. The story appears between levels and adds context to the puzzles.
If you prefer puzzles without text, the Minimal Story mode offers the puzzles with less narrative text to read.
- Toggle to Minimal Story mode when the text feels distracting.
- Read the story snippets for thematic background that may inspire solutions.

Level Count and Playtime
The game contains more than 60 handcrafted levels, ranging from simple logic puzzles to multi‑layered temporal challenges. Together they provide over four hours of gameplay.
Players may skip a difficult level or unlock all levels to explore at their own pace, allowing flexible progression through the content.
- Use the skip option on a paradox that stalls you.
- Unlock all levels early if you enjoy non‑linear exploration.

Full Controller Support
Chronigma natively supports Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch controllers with no extra configuration required. The game expects Steam Input to be disabled for proper operation.
If controller input behaves oddly, disabling Steam Input via the game's properties and restarting resolves most issues.
- Disable Steam Input as described if buttons appear incorrect.
- Test the controller in the main menu before starting a level.
