About Chroma Squad
Chroma Squad is a tactical RPG where five former stunt actors launch their own Power‑Rangers‑style TV show. Players run a studio, hire talent, buy upgrades, and craft weapons and giant cardboard Mechas from duct‑tape and cardboard.
When filming begins, the five colored‑jumpsuit heroes fight in turn‑based battles that blend skill‑tree abilities with Teamwork maneuvers. The story branches toward three possible endings, all presented in pixel art with a chiptune soundtrack.
01 / THE GUIDE
Studio Management
The game lets you customize a TV studio by hiring actors, purchasing equipment, and upgrading facilities. These choices determine the resources you have for crafting weapons and Mechas later in the game.
Upgrades shape the resources you have available for crafting weapons and Mechas, linking the management layer directly to the tactical battles that follow each episode.
- Weigh hiring costs against upgrade benefits to keep a steady flow of resources.
- Marketing is one of the studio activities you can invest in alongside equipment and facility upgrades.

Turn‑Based Combat
Combat plays out in dramatic, turn‑based battles where each of the five colored‑jumpsuit warriors acts in sequence. Players select abilities from each hero’s skill tree to confront enemies.
Random equipment adds variety to the gear you can acquire, encouraging players to adapt their tactics as their loadouts change.
- Arrange hero order to maximize ability synergies.
- Observe enemy patterns to anticipate optimal counters.

Teamwork Maneuvers
A core twist lets you combine heroes’ abilities into Teamwork maneuvers, producing stronger effects than individual moves. These joint actions combine the strengths of several heroes into a single coordinated effect.
Coordinating abilities encourages players to think about how each hero’s skill complements the others, adding a layer of strategic depth to each battle.
- Pair heroes with complementary damage types for stronger combos.
- Experiment with different pairings to discover hidden synergies.

Crafting & Giant Mecha
Beyond personal weapons, the studio can craft giant cardboard robots using duct tape and other materials. These Mechas become playable units in special combat scenarios.
Mecha battles let you “destroy the city to save the city,” offering a distinct scale of conflict that contrasts with the standard hero fights.
- Gather materials early so you are ready to craft Mechas when the studio needs them.
- Learn each Mecha’s abilities before committing to the giant battles.

Branching Story & Endings
The narrative follows the studio’s rise, offering choices that lead to three different endings. Decisions made during production and combat influence the final outcome.
This branching structure encourages multiple playthroughs to see each possible conclusion, adding replay value through story variation rather than new mechanics.
- Pay attention to dialogue options that hint at future plot branches.
- Save before major decisions to explore alternate outcomes.
