About Chef Knight
Chef Knight blends light‑hearted combat with kitchen management in a cozy fantasy setting. Players descend top‑down dungeons, aim attacks, dodge traps, and defeat monsters that double as ingredients. After each run, the collected spoils are taken back to a kitchen where they can be combined into meals. Cooking unlocks new recipes, and the resulting dishes can be sold to passing adventurers. The revenue fuels a large skill tree that improves combat speed, cooking efficiency, and the length of future runs, letting players push deeper into the dungeons. The game is single‑player, runs on Windows, and offers full controller support alongside keyboard‑only and mouse‑only options. It also includes custom volume controls, a camera‑comfort setting, Steam Cloud saves, and Steam Achievements, giving players flexibility while tracking progress across sessions.
01 / THE GUIDE
Dungeon Exploration
The top‑down dungeons are populated by monsters that serve as both foes and food sources. Players aim their attacks, dodge hazardous traps, and collect fresh ingredients after each victory.
Each monster defeated adds to the pool of ingredients you can later cook, making exploration both risky and rewarding.
- Target monsters that are known to drop rarer ingredients early in the run.
- Observe trap patterns to preserve health for later cooking stages.
02 / THE GUIDE
Cooking and Selling
When a dungeon run ends, you return to the kitchen to transform collected ingredients into meals. New recipes become available as you experiment with different ingredient combinations.
Finished dishes can be sold to passing adventurers, generating profit that can be reinvested into upgrades.
- Mix ingredients you have in abundance with rarer ones to increase dish value.
- Sell dishes before spending profits on upgrades to keep cash on hand for the next run.

03 / THE GUIDE
Skill Tree Upgrades
Profits from sold meals feed a vast skill tree. Upgrades affect combat speed, cooking efficiency, and overall run length, letting you push deeper into dungeons.
Balancing upgrades between fighting and cooking lets you tailor the loop to your preferred play style.
- Increase fighting speed first to clear dungeons more quickly.
- Later, invest in cooking efficiency to raise the value of each dish.

Control Options
Chef Knight supports full controller input, including DualShock and DualSense, as well as keyboard‑only and mouse‑only modes. The game does not require timed input, allowing a relaxed pace.
Custom volume controls and a camera‑comfort setting let you adjust audio and visual comfort to suit personal preferences.
- Switch between input methods across runs to find the most comfortable setup.
- Enable the camera‑comfort setting if the default top‑down view feels too intense.
