About Chatventures

Chatventures is a text‑adventure MMORPG where players navigate a fantasy world using typed commands. Actions such as “punch”, “look”, “go to” and even “honk” let you interact with enemies, NPCs, objects and other players in each chat‑room area.

The game offers over fifty commands, fifty areas, ninety items, thirty enemies, twenty NPCs and fifteen quests. A password is generated for each account, and a $3‑per‑month subscription supports ongoing development by Sokpop Collective.

01 / THE GUIDE

Text Commands

Players issue commands like “punch”, “look”, “go to” and “honk” to affect the world and other players. The game lists more than fifty commands, some hidden in plain sight, to discover as you play.

Commands serve multiple purposes: combat, navigation, information gathering and social interaction. Learning new commands expands what you can do in each chat‑room area.

  • Experiment with unfamiliar words; hidden commands may appear in descriptions.
  • Use “look” frequently to identify travel options and interactable objects.

02 / THE GUIDE

World Exploration

The game world consists of over fifty distinct areas, each represented as its own chat room. Players move between them with the “go to” command, discovering new NPCs and items.

Exploration is text‑driven; descriptions reveal where you can travel, which NPCs you can talk to and which objects you can check out.

  • Read area descriptions carefully for travel hints.
  • Visit new rooms regularly to encounter fresh quests and items.

03 / THE GUIDE

Combat System

Combat is initiated by typing actions such as “punch”. There are more than thirty enemies to fight, and additional attacks become available as you progress.

Successful attacks depend on using the right commands, and you will learn more attacks as you progress.

  • Start with simple attacks like “punch” before trying unknown commands.
  • Observe enemy responses to gauge effective tactics.

04 / THE GUIDE

Quests and NPCs

Over twenty NPCs populate the world, offering fifteen+ quests that guide players through story beats and reward exploration. Dialogue is accessed via text commands.

Quests encourage exploring the world and making use of the full command set.

  • Talk to every NPC you meet; some commands are hidden in plain sight.
  • Track quest objectives in a separate note for clarity.

05 / THE GUIDE

Account and Subscription

When you start, the game generates a unique password so real passwords are not used. Remember this password to access your character.

A $3‑per‑month subscription supports Sokpop’s bi‑weekly releases, and the game is available on Windows and macOS via Steam.

  • Store your generated password securely and be sure to remember it.
  • Consider the subscription if you enjoy regular content updates.
