About Chained Together

Chained Together is a hardcore platformer where players climb ever‑higher layers to escape a fiery Hell. The game challenges you to perfect jumps and coordinate movement, whether you play solo or with friends. Three difficulty options let you choose between a forgiving checkpoint system, a punishing normal experience, or a relentless lava‑rising race. Leaderboards and achievements track your progress, but only in the tougher modes.

01 / THE GUIDE

Game Modes

Three modes shape the experience: Beginner Mode adds checkpoints for a gentler climb, Normal Mode offers the core masocore challenge, and Lava Mode forces you to race against ever‑rising flames. Each mode presents its own set of platform hazards.

Choosing a mode determines whether leaderboards and achievements will record your runs, as they are only active in Normal and Lava Modes.

  • Start in Beginner Mode to learn chain handling before tackling Normal.
  • In Lava Mode, focus on steady upward momentum to stay ahead of the flames.

02 / THE GUIDE

Co‑op Options

The game supports both local and online cooperative play, allowing up to four players to climb together. You can share a screen or split it, and remote play together is also available.

Co‑op can be enjoyed in any of the three difficulty modes, letting friends coordinate jumps and chain physics to survive the ascent.

  • Communicate jump timing with teammates for smoother climbs.
  • Use split‑screen to keep each player’s view clear during tight sections.

03 / THE GUIDE

Realistic Chain Physics

A fully simulated chain wraps around platforms, influencing how you move and climb. The physics can be leveraged to swing or pull yourself toward higher ledges.

Understanding the chain’s behavior is essential for mastering jumps and avoiding falls on the punishing platforms.

  • Experiment with wrapping the chain around obstacles to gain extra height.
  • Watch the chain’s tension to anticipate how it will release.

04 / THE GUIDE

Leaderboards & Rewards

Global leaderboards let you compare your highest climbs with other players worldwide. Achievements are also tracked, but only when playing in Normal or Lava Modes.

These competitive features provide motivation to improve your climb and master the game’s toughest sections.

  • Aim for consistent runs to climb the leaderboard gradually.
  • Focus on Normal Mode first to unlock achievements before attempting Lava.

05 / THE GUIDE

Platform Availability

Chained Together is currently released for Windows PCs. No versions are listed for macOS or Linux at this time.

The Windows build supports partial controller input, allowing players to use gamepads alongside keyboard controls.

  • Test both controller and keyboard to find your preferred input method.
  • Check for Windows updates that might improve controller compatibility.
