Game Modes
Cat Warfare provides five multiplayer modes: Classic Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture The Flag, Cursed Capture The Flag, and Control. Each mode follows the typical rules of its genre, focusing on player‑versus‑player combat and objective completion.
All modes are reachable through the server browser, where players can host a match or join an existing one that matches their preferred style of play.

Weapon Variety
Before entering a match, players choose from a multi‑weapon arsenal that includes a Nail Gun, Plasma Gun, Minigun, Shotgun, Rocket Launcher, Sniper Rifle, and Tesla Gun. The selected weapon determines the primary way you finish fights.
Weapon choice is made in the pre‑match loadout screen, allowing you to align firepower with personal preference or the demands of a specific mode.
- Swap weapons between matches to discover which range and rate of fire feel comfortable.
- Consider map layout when picking a weapon; open areas may favour long‑range tools.

Map Types
Matches occur in varied environments such as a city, a space station, or a factory. Each setting provides a distinct visual theme and layout for combat.
When hosting a match, the host selects the desired map, setting the battlefield’s aesthetic and structural features for all participants.
- Select a map that complements your chosen weapon’s strengths.
- Play on multiple map types to become comfortable with differing sightlines.

Free Version vs Full DLC
The free version grants access to match hosting, joining, a server browser, custom cat calling cards, and game events. Purchasing the full DLC adds gear colours, clan tags, DLC calling cards, and a bonus of 1000 catTags.
Both versions share the same core gameplay; the DLC focuses on visual customisation and additional calling‑card content.
- Start with the free version to evaluate core gameplay before deciding on DLC.
- Use the extra visual customisation in DLC to differentiate your profile.

Cross‑Platform Multiplayer
Cat Warfare supports multiplayer across Windows, macOS, and Linux, allowing players on any of these operating systems to compete together. The feature is listed under Cross‑Platform Multiplayer.
This broad compatibility expands the player pool and reduces the need for a single platform to find matches.
- Invite friends on different operating systems to test the cross‑platform experience.
- Check the server browser for a mix of platform users to gauge latency.
