About CastleMiner Z
CastleMiner Z is an online cooperative survival‑horror game set in a block‑based environment. Players travel together through an infinite, ever‑changing world, crafting modern weapons and building structures to defend against dragons, zombies, skeletons and other monsters.
The title offers four distinct modes—Endurance, Survival, Creative and Dragon Survival—each with its own rules for enemy presence and world persistence. Worlds can be saved in all modes except Endurance, allowing constructions to be revisited later.
01 / THE GUIDE
Game Modes
CastleMiner Z provides four main modes. Endurance randomizes the world each run and applies permanent death to the entire party, meaning a lost run cannot be reloaded. This creates a high‑stakes experience where every encounter matters.
Survival lets players build permanent defenses while enemies remain active, Creative simplifies crafting and lets players adjust or remove enemy threats, and Dragon Survival focuses on repeated waves of large dragons. Each mode defines a different balance of building and combat.
- Try Creative first to learn crafting without enemy pressure.
- In Endurance, move cautiously because death cannot be undone.

World Generation
The game world is described as infinite and ever‑changing, containing biomes such as dry deserts, snowy mountains and icy expanses. Each Endurance run generates a new layout, offering fresh exploration each session.
Deep places to explore appear throughout the terrain, providing opportunities to locate raw materials and confront monsters in varied environments.
- Visit each biome early to locate diverse resources.
- Use natural terrain features as defensive choke points.

Crafting & Building
Players can construct structures from blocks and craft weapons and tools using raw materials gathered in the world. Creative mode offers simplified crafting, reducing the steps needed to create items.
Built structures serve as defenses against zombies, dragons and other threats, especially in Survival mode where constructions persist between sessions.
- Combine block building with weapon crafting to create fortified outposts.
- In Survival, reinforce walls with multiple layers for added durability.

Multiplayer Co‑op
The game supports online co‑op, allowing friends to join the same world and collaborate on building, crafting and combat. Both solo and group play are available across all listed modes.
Travel with friends in the huge, ever‑changing world and craft modern weapons together, providing shared resources and coordinated defense against dragons and the zombie horde.
- Assign one player to gather resources while another focuses on combat.
- Share building duties to speed up fortification in Survival.

Saving Worlds
Worlds can be saved in Survival, Creative and Dragon Survival modes, preserving structures and progress for later sessions. Endurance mode does not allow saving, reflecting its permanent‑death design.
Saved worlds let players reload with different enemy settings, enabling a transition from peaceful building to combat challenges without rebuilding from scratch.
- Save after major construction milestones to avoid loss of work.
- Load a saved world with enemies off, then enable them for a later challenge.
