About CAPTURED
CAPTURED thrusts you into a never‑ending hallway inside your own home, rendered in a late‑90s VHS aesthetic. Each loop reshapes the rooms, forcing you to rely on memory and observation to progress.
Your only allies are a flashlight, a zoomable camera, and a handful of doors. Identify thirteen anomalies while evading three distinct monsters, and you can finally break the loop and escape the darkness.

Hallway Loop Mechanics
The hallway is procedurally generated, meaning each loop rearranges rooms and phenomena. Leaving the house simply returns you to another segment of the same endless corridor, reinforcing the sense of entrapment. Your progress is measured by the anomalies you correctly capture before the camera’s memory is wiped.
Silence can be useful, but lingering too long may reveal your location to hostile entities. The loop ends only after you correctly capture the required number of anomalies, after which the escape is triggered.
- Observe room layouts quickly to build a mental map.
- Limit idle time to reduce the chance of attracting monsters.

Anomaly Capture System
Your camera lets you zoom in on suspicious changes and select an anomaly type from six categories: Object, Electronic, Lighting, Water, Missing Room, and Deformed Room. Correct classification adds to the count needed for escape; a mistake erases the camera’s memory.
Thirteen correctly captured anomalies are required to break the loop. The system encourages careful observation, as each anomaly is tied to a specific visual cue within the hallway’s shifting environment.
- Pause before selecting a type to verify visual details.
- Keep track of which categories you have already recorded.

Monster Encounters
Three monsters roam the hallway, each with unique mechanics that react to your actions. Some may be deterred by silence, while others respond to light or movement. Understanding each creature’s behavior is essential for survival.
The monsters do not follow a single pattern; staying too long in a loop may give away your location, so how you use tools like the flashlight matters. Learning their traits through repeated loops improves your odds of staying alive.
- Watch for visual or audio cues that signal a monster’s presence.
- Experiment with different tool combinations to see which deter each monster.

Visual & Audio Aesthetic
CAPTURED adopts a realistic graphics style blended with a VHS‑style 90s aesthetic. Minimal UI keeps the focus on the environment, while ambient sounds and static reinforce the analog horror vibe.
The lighting is deliberately dim, encouraging reliance on the flashlight. The overall atmosphere is designed to feel both nostalgic and unsettling, amplifying the feeling of isolation within the looping house.
- Adjust your screen brightness to match the game’s low‑light design.
- Listen for subtle audio changes that may indicate hidden anomalies.

Tools: Flashlight, Camera, and Doors
Three core tools aid your survival: a flashlight for illumination, a camera for anomaly detection, and doors you can use strategically during encounters. Each tool interacts with the environment and monsters in distinct ways.
Strategic use of these items is crucial. For example, a well‑timed door or flashlight use can matter in an encounter with a given creature. The camera remains your primary means of recording progress toward escape.
- Combine door placement with flashlight direction to create safe zones.
- Reserve camera use for moments when you are confident about the anomaly.
