About Cabernet
Cabernet is a 2D narrative RPG that follows Liza, a young vampire, through a 19th‑century Eastern‑European‑inspired world with a modern twist. The story focuses on political intrigue, class conflict, and decadent corruption while the player decides how much humanity Liza retains.
The game blends adventure, indie, RPG and simulation elements, turning art, literature, history and science into tools rather than weapons. Choices affect relationships with both vampiric society and the humans they feed upon, creating a tension between empathy and nihilism.

Narrative Setting
The hidden world of Cabernet mirrors 19th‑century Eastern Europe yet incorporates modern sensibilities. Moonlit skies appear as visual cues that signal when Liza can plan a feast or explore secret corners of the city.

Moral Choices
Liza’s core struggle is whether to retain her humanity or descend further into horror. Each decision can aid or unravel the lives of potential victims such as a kind‑hearted coachman or a greedy charlatan.
These moral paths affect personal relationships and the broader vampiric society, offering no single “right” outcome and encouraging the player to weigh empathy against nihilism.
- Consider how each target’s background aligns with the moral stance you wish to pursue.
- Compare immediate consequences of compassionate versus ruthless actions.

Knowledge Skills
Success relies on cultural knowledge—art, literature, history and science are described as the player’s greatest weapons. Understanding a target’s desires or background guides the approach to feeding or assistance.
These intellectual tools turn conversation and research into core gameplay loops. Mastery of the subjects opens new narrative branches and potential allies.
- Cross‑reference historical facts with character dialogue for hidden options.
- Use scientific curiosity when deciding how to approach a potential meal.

Vampire Society
The game presents a layered vampiric community that mingles with humans. Some members seek aid, while others exist solely to be drained, creating a spectrum of interactions.
Navigating this society requires awareness of each character’s motives; allying with a charismatic charlatan or exposing a corrupt elder will reverberate through the hidden world.
- Map relationships between vampiric factions for clearer decision‑making.
- Contrast the demeanor of charismatic versus corrupt characters.
