About Buggos 2

Buggos 2 puts you in the role of an Evil Hivemind, commanding swarms of bugs against human fortifications. You place Attack Pins for each spawner, letting the swarm march, split, and flood walls without micromanaging individual insects.

The campaign offers 45 missions across nine hand‑crafted planets, each with chokepoints, back doors, and alternate routes. Evolution points earned per mission feed a 127‑item tree of evolutions and mutations that can be reset at any time.

01 / THE GUIDE

Swarm Control Mechanics

Each spawner receives an Attack Pin; the swarm then moves, splits, and floods around defenses automatically, allowing focus on macro positioning rather than individual bugs.

Control groups and chained pins are available for players who want tighter directional control during larger engagements.

  • Experiment with chaining pins to guide swarm flow through complex terrain.
  • Use control groups to organize spawners before assigning pins.

02 / THE GUIDE

Evolution Tree and Mutations

Every mission grants evolution points that can be spent on any of the 127 evolutions or mutations, shaping the swarm’s capabilities.

Mutations alter unit behavior rather than simply increasing numbers, and the tree can be reset at any moment to try a different build.

  • Reset the tree after a few missions to compare contrasting builds.
  • Combine behavior‑changing mutations to explore new tactical options.

Mission Structure and Maps

The campaign’s 45 missions are spread over nine planets, each map hand‑built with chokepoints, back doors, and alternate routes for varied approaches.

After completing a planet you choose how Humans adapt, adding a dynamic difficulty layer for subsequent missions.

  • Search for hidden back doors to bypass heavily defended chokepoints.
  • Adjust human adaptation choices to keep challenges fresh.

04 / THE GUIDE

Buggos vs Buggos Multiplayer

Up to four players can battle on Steam in free‑for‑all or team modes, drafting evolutions and mutations from a host‑set point budget.

If your last Hive is destroyed you are eliminated, making hive preservation central to each match.

  • Coordinate mutation drafts with teammates for complementary swarm abilities.
  • Observe opponent Hive placement early to anticipate attack routes.

05 / THE GUIDE

Level Editor and Steam Workshop

Buggos 2 includes a built‑in level editor that lets you design maps and script triggers, extending gameplay beyond the official campaign.

Created maps can be uploaded to the Steam Workshop, allowing the community to share and play custom scenarios.

  • Use trigger scripting to create varied wave patterns for custom maps.
  • Browse the Workshop for inspiration before building your own level.
