About Breakout Garage
Breakout Garage is an open‑world driving and racing simulator set in Texas, USA. Developed by Breakout Studio, it offers a detailed car‑building system where parts influence physics such as weight, aerodynamics, and engine characteristics.
Players can race in street drag, official drag, oval, drift, time‑trial and endurance events, either solo or in peer‑to‑peer multiplayer with an in‑server lobby. Additional tools include a photo mode, in‑game wiki and a realistic economy.
01 / THE GUIDE
In‑Depth Car Building
The building system lets you combine performance and cosmetic parts. Each part changes physics variables like weight, center of mass, engine compression ratio, displacement and inertia.
Engine tuning covers air‑to‑fuel ratio, timing, boost and fuel octane, while the tire system offers stretched, straight or meaty fitments. Parts also wear out, producing audible cues such as lifter ticks or rod knock.
- Test different wheel fitments on the same car to notice handling changes.
- Listen for wear sounds to anticipate needed part replacements.

Racing Modes and Tracks
Drag racing includes accurate 1/4‑mile and 1/8‑mile courses with options for prep or no‑prep runs, standard or pro trees, and leaderboards.
Simple drift events, time trials and endurance races feature AI opponents, while oval racing and a planned dirt racing career expand the variety of competitions.
- Try both standard and pro trees to see which timing feels more comfortable.
- Use drift events to practice car control before endurance races.

Peer‑to‑Peer Multiplayer
Players can host or join servers that include an in‑server race lobby, allowing direct challenges against other players.
The game lists Steam achievements, leaderboards and cloud saves among its features.
- Host a lobby with friends to test new builds before official races.
- Check leaderboards after each race to gauge relative performance.

Economy, Used Car Dealer & Repairs
A realistic economy uses real‑life prices for parts and vehicles. The used car dealer offers an infinite supply of randomly generated cars that can be inspected before purchase.
Cars can be restored and sold for profit, while wear and tear requires repair or replacement of parts, indicated by audible cues such as lifter tick or rod knock.
- Inspect used cars carefully to avoid heavily worn components.
- Balance restoration costs against potential resale profit.

Customization and Photo Mode
Customization includes performance upgrades, paint wear, edge rust, patina and a decal system for interior and window stickers, representing over 14 real‑life aftermarket brands.
Photo mode lets you capture in‑game moments, while the in‑game wiki provides detailed explanations of mechanics and parts for further learning.
- Experiment with paint wear effects for realistic visual variety.
- Use the wiki to understand how specific parts affect handling.
