01 / THE GUIDE
Stages and Environments
The game features five distinct stages, each with its own visual theme such as snowy mountains, hectic dockyards, and nightmare bases. These stages provide varied backdrops for the core combat and boss encounters.
These environments host the game’s fearsome boss encounters, which test the skills you’ve built across the earlier levels.
- Observe how enemy patterns differ between open snowy fields and tighter dockyard corridors.
- Use the visual cues of each stage to anticipate where large hazards may appear.

Playable Characters & Special Weapons
Three characters are available, each able to wield any of the twelve special weapons. Weapons range from bullet‑blocking tools to crowd‑clearing devices, letting you tailor your approach to each encounter.
Choosing a weapon influences how you manage enemies, bosses, and point accumulation, offering flexibility without locking you into a single playstyle.
- Experiment with different weapon‑character combos in Mission mode to discover effective pairings.
- Consider a weapon that excels at crowd control for stages with dense enemy waves.

Adaptive Difficulty & Parallel Mode
An adaptive difficulty system monitors your performance and adjusts challenges on the fly, aiming to match your skill level. For players seeking a fixed challenge, Parallel mode presents the toughest possible experience.
Parallel mode also includes a “nice” surprise at its conclusion, offering a distinct payoff for enduring the heightened difficulty.
- Use Adaptive difficulty if you prefer a smoother learning curve.
- Try Parallel mode after mastering the standard difficulty to test your limits.

Mission Mode & XP Scoring
Mission mode offers 25 single‑stage challenges that let you hone specific skills before tackling the full run. These challenges include survival, scoring, experimental weapons, and remixed bosses.
XP‑Mode converts your score into experience points, unlocking oddball superweapons and rewarding high‑score chains, especially when finishing with a special weapon for bonus points.
- Focus on chaining short combos in XP‑Mode to maximize score bonuses.
- Use Mission mode to practice experimental weapons before using them in the main campaign.

Visual Customization & Performance Options
Players can adjust bullet colours, item transparency, and background brightness/saturation to improve legibility. The game also supports screen scaling, portrait mode, and a smooth 120 Hz display option.
These settings let you tailor the visual experience for comfort or competitive clarity, especially when tracking fast‑moving projectiles.
- Increase item transparency if you find bullet trails hard to follow.
- Enable 120 Hz mode on compatible hardware for smoother motion perception.
