About Blossom: The Seed of Life
Blossom: The Seed of Life puts you in the role of Blossom, a small robot tasked with reviving a dead planet. You clear fog, form ice, melt it, turn dust into soil, and grow algae, flowers, and trees to generate oxygen and blue the sky.
Exploration spans foot, rover, and aerial travel across Mars, where you discover abandoned stations, ancient machines, and orbital platforms while managing energy, building modular rovers, and expanding mobile bases that move with you.
01 / THE GUIDE
Terraforming Mechanics
The core loop involves clearing fog by increasing pressure, forming ice, then melting it into water by raising temperature. Dust is converted into soil, algae green the planet, and planting vegetation creates oxygen and a blue sky.
Forests and biomes develop further, allowing you to incubate insects, birds, and animals, completing the planet’s ecological cycle.
- Observe how each environmental change (pressure, temperature) unlocks the next step.
- Compare the visual shift after adding algae versus planting trees to gauge progress.

Exploration & Travel
You traverse Mars on foot, in modular rovers, or through the air, reaching distant regions to gather resources or watch terraforming results. The world contains abandoned stations, ancient machines, wrecked ships, and orbital platforms that reveal the planet’s history.
Travel enables you to locate new resource nodes and observe how your terraforming efforts reshape the landscape over large distances.
- Use aerial travel to spot distant biomes before committing ground resources.
- Note the differences between footpaths and rover routes for efficient navigation.

Energy Management
As a robot, electricity replaces food; you must power movement, tools, and machines to stay operational. Managing energy becomes central to progress, influencing how far you can travel and which actions you can perform at any time.
Refining materials and automating with drones can help sustain energy supplies, but careful planning remains essential in the harsh environment.
- Track energy consumption when using multiple tools simultaneously.
- Consider technology upgrades that could support longer excursions.

Base Building & Mobility
Bases are modular and not fixed to a single location; they move with you, allowing planetary‑scale exploration. You can build and customize rovers with batteries, storage, and mining lasers, then chain them into convoys for mobile or stationary outposts.
This flexibility lets you mine on the go and establish outposts wherever resources are found, supporting ongoing terraforming and survival.
- Experiment with different rover module combinations to match terrain challenges.
- Consider placing storage modules near high‑yield resource zones for efficiency.

Multiplayer & Co‑op
Blossom supports single‑player, multiplayer, and online co‑op modes, allowing multiple players to collaborate on terraforming projects. Steam achievements and cloud saves are available, and the game includes full controller support and adjustable difficulty settings.
These features let groups share the experience of reviving the planet while each manages their own energy and builds.
- Coordinate resource gathering with teammates to avoid overlapping effort.
- Adjust difficulty together to match the group’s preferred pacing.
