About Blood West
Blood West fuses Weird West mythos with Lovecraftian horror in a stealth‑first‑person shooter. Players become the Undead Gunslinger, cursed to roam the Canyons, Swamp and Mountains while hunting abominable monsters and seeking a way to lift the curse.
The three open‑ended maps average over 20 hours to finish the main scenarios and can exceed 35 hours when every hidden stash and secret is uncovered, rewarding careful scouting, silent takedowns or direct gun‑fights.
01 / THE GUIDE
Stealth‑focused FPS core
The game is described as a stealth FPS that rewards scouting, stalking and striking from the shadows. Players can attempt to clear locations such as forts without raising an alarm, mirroring classic stealth design.
If a silent approach feels restrictive, the description also allows a head‑on, guns‑blazing style, letting players choose between quiet takedowns and direct combat depending on the situation.
- Observe enemy patrol routes before engaging to locate quiet entry points.
- Choose quieter weapons when you aim to stay undetected.
02 / THE GUIDE
Open‑ended map design
The Canyons, Swamp and Mountains are presented as open‑ended worlds that can be explored at the player’s own pace, each swarming with monsters, demons and hidden stashes.
Exploration time averages over 20 hours for the three scenarios and can exceed 35 hours when players seek every secret, encouraging free‑form discovery rather than linear progression.
- Purchase a map from a vendor to help orient yourself in the large environments.
- Mark locations of hidden loot on personal notes for later revisits.

Diverse weapon arsenal
Blood West provides revolvers, rifles, shotguns, carbines, hand‑to‑hand tools and archery weapons. Some firearms are standard, while others are infused with magic or possessed, offering multiple combat styles.
The game also includes one‑use items such as bandages, explosives, incendiaries and arcane artifacts that can be slotted to change how you play.
- Test magic‑infused guns to see how they affect enemy reactions.
- Keep a mix of melee and ranged options for flexibility in tight encounters.
04 / THE GUIDE
RPG‑style perk progression
Experience points feed a skill tree that lets players shape their playstyle—stealth hunter, revolver‑fanning gunman or relentless berserker. New artifacts discovered in each scenario grant additional abilities.
Combining chosen perks with load‑out decisions creates many possible builds within a single playthrough, allowing deep customization of the experience.
- Focus early perks on stealth if you prefer silent approaches.
- Mix offensive and defensive perks to handle unpredictable monster attacks.
05 / THE GUIDE
Fully‑voiced NPC encounters
Fully‑voiced NPCs are also prisoners of the Barren Lands. They may share stories, assign missions, reward cooperation or become hostile if crossed, influencing the player’s options.
The game does not hand‑hold; players must discover these characters and their quests independently, using dialogue cues to decide how to proceed.
- Listen to NPC dialogue for hints about hidden quests or loot.
- Treat NPCs as potential allies; hostile actions can close off mission options.
