About Block Fortress 2
Block Fortress 2 mixes block‑building, tower‑defense, and first‑ or third‑person shooting. Players place dozens of block types—walls, turrets, shields, farms, mines, zip lines, and more—to create a fortress, then fight off four enemy races while surviving day/night cycles, weather, lava, acid, and alien monsters.
The title also includes a mission editor, online co‑op, and ten distinct planet biomes that can be reached from a command‑ship base. Players can share creations, download community maps, and team up across Windows and macOS for endless replayability.
01 / THE GUIDE
Building and Defense
The game lets you place walls, turrets, traps, shield generators, farms, land mines, teleporters, zip lines, and many other specialized blocks. This freedom lets you shape a fortress from towering forts to sprawling castles in any layout you imagine.
Four enemy races attack your base, and the battles occur under a dynamic day/night cycle, severe weather, lava, acid, and alien monsters, so your block placement must consider both enemy patterns and environmental hazards.
- Test block placement against a short wave to spot blind spots before larger attacks.
- Use terrain features like lava to channel enemies into turret fire.

Combat and Weapons
Combat can be played in first‑ or third‑person perspective, letting you wield a rocket launcher, mini‑gun, plasma rifle, jet pack, and other equipment. You also can choose an army of specialized soldiers to assist in battle.
The action‑packed shooting pairs with your constructed defenses, so you can switch between building, firing, and commanding troops as enemy waves assault your stronghold.
- Combine long‑range rifles with close‑range mini‑guns to handle varied enemy types.
- Deploy soldiers to cover angles where turrets have limited fire.

Level Creation and Sharing
An extensive mission builder lets you design massive battles, stealth missions, obstacle courses, or giant worlds. Once finished, you can upload the level for others to download, providing endless replayability through community‑made content.
The editor supports both sandbox play and mission‑based challenges, so you can test your own designs or explore what other players have built, keeping the experience fresh after the campaign.
- Start with a simple layout and add complexity as you test the level.
- Browse popular community maps for ideas on block combinations.

Planet Exploration
Your command ship serves as a mobile base from which you can travel to ten different planet types, each featuring unique hazards such as lava, acid, or alien monsters. These biomes expand the game beyond a single arena.
Exploring new planets introduces fresh tactical challenges, encouraging you to adapt fortress designs and combat loadouts to survive the specific dangers of each world.
- Adjust turret types to match the dominant environmental threat of each biome.
- Use shield generators when landing on planets with severe weather.

Multiplayer and Co‑op
Block Fortress 2 supports online co‑op multiplayer, allowing friends to join your campaign, create missions together, or build in sandbox mode as a team. Cross‑platform multiplayer lets Windows and macOS players collaborate.
Co‑op play adds strategic depth, as teammates can specialize in building, combat, or soldier command, coordinating defenses against the relentless enemies of the Blockverse.
- Assign one player to focus on base construction while another handles combat.
- Communicate enemy wave timings to synchronize turret upgrades.
