About Bladesong
Bladesong puts you in the high walls of Eren Keep, a settlement ruled by the Masked King. As the keep’s swordsmith you receive coin‑filled requests and shape steel into blades that balance precision, balance and beauty using a freeform modular system.
The game offers illustrated locations such as Citadel Square and The Den, a cast of hireable characters, and two play modes—Campaign and Creative. Community tools let you share designs with Magic Words and export STL files for 3‑D printing.
01 / THE GUIDE
Blade Crafting System
The core loop centers on freeform blade shaping. Players select parts, engravings and materials—including metal, leather, wood, obsidian and ivory—from a library and assemble them to meet each commission’s rating requirements. Every sword is generated uniquely, encouraging experimentation with curvature and detail.
Ratings reflect how well a blade satisfies a customer’s specifications. Higher‑rated commissions demand particular attributes, and rare materials unlock additional aesthetic options. Learning to balance functional ratings with visual flourishes is essential for successful deliveries.
- Begin with common metals to see how ratings change before using rare components.
- Use simple engravings first; they add visual interest without affecting balance.

Campaign and Creative Modes
Campaign Mode lets you grow a collection of sword parts while completing commissions and advancing the story of Eren Keep. New parts become available as you progress, linking material acquisition to narrative milestones.
Creative Mode provides a sandbox with the full library of parts, tools, materials and engravings. It removes commission ratings and story constraints, allowing unrestricted experimentation with design concepts.
- Prototype complex designs in Creative Mode before tackling demanding commissions in Campaign.
- Track which parts you unlock in Campaign to expand options for Creative builds.

Community Sharing and 3‑D Printing
Magic Words let you share completed swords with Bladesong’s active community. Other players can view, download and remix your designs, fostering a collaborative environment around swordmaking.
An export feature creates STL files for each sword, enabling real‑world 3‑D printing. Regular community challenges provide themed prompts that encourage new material combinations and design approaches.
- Enter community challenges to discover unconventional material pairings.
- Export favorite designs as STL files for personal 3‑D‑printing projects.

Hiring Characters and Faction Interaction
You can hire unique characters to assist in the forge; each comes with personal ambitions and story snippets. Hires affect the flow of work and can unlock new dialogue options.
Working with factions such as the scavenging Crows or the scholarly Magisterium changes which commissions appear. Different factions prioritize distinct blade attributes, influencing the materials you’ll need to gather.
- Diversify hires to cover a range of skill sets and story angles.
- Watch faction demand trends to prioritize commissions that match your current inventory.
