About Birds of War
Birds of War drops you into chaotic 3v3v3 aerial combat where nine birds fight over three nests. The team that gathers the most eggs in its nest before the timer expires wins the match.
Every match features active proximity voice chat, so you’ll hear opponents before you see them. The launch roster includes four birds—Crow, Hummingbird, Shoebill and Pigeon—each described with a distinct tactical role.
01 / THE GUIDE
Game Mode & Objective
Each match contains nine birds split into three teams of three. Teams defend their own nest while attempting to raid the other two nests to extract eggs and bring them back.
The win condition is simply the highest egg count when the match timer ends. Players must balance offensive raids with defensive protection of their own eggs.
- Plan coordinated raids on a single enemy nest to maximize egg capture before defenders can react.
- Keep at least one teammate near your nest to intercept incoming enemy carriers.

Bird Types
Four birds are available at launch: Crow is described as a stealth assassin, Hummingbird as a speed demon, Shoebill as a tank, and Pigeon as a support menace with UAV‑style marking.
These descriptions suggest different tactical contributions, allowing teams to mix stealth, speed, durability and support. More birds are promised for future updates.
- Combine a fast Hummingbird with a durable Shoebill to create a push that can chase and absorb damage.
- Use the Pigeon’s marking ability to locate enemy movements during chaotic fights.

Combat Mechanics
Combat is melee‑first and physics‑driven, with every hit triggering ragdoll effects. Direct contact is emphasized over ranged attacks, making timing and positioning central to success.
Because hits cause ragdolls, eliminations feel earned through precise melee engagements. Players must manage momentum and aerial space to gain an advantage.
- Practice timing melee attacks to maximize ragdoll impact and avoid being knocked away.
- Observe how momentum affects your ability to stay in the fight after a hit.

Audio & Proximity Chat
Proximity voice chat is active in every match, allowing players to hear opponents before they see them. This creates an auditory layer where sound cues can reveal enemy locations.
Both teams can hear each other, so careful listening and clear communication can expose enemy intentions and help coordinate defenses or raids.
- Listen for enemy chatter to anticipate incoming raids and adjust positioning.
- Use voice chat to quickly relay enemy positions when you hear them.

Monetization & Fair Play
The game includes in‑app purchases, but the description states that nothing in the shop makes a bird hit harder or fly faster. This ensures a zero pay‑to‑win environment.
Purchases therefore do not make a bird hit harder or fly faster, preserving competitive balance across all players.
- Focus on skill development rather than spending on cosmetic items.
- Enjoy community‑driven updates without worrying about hidden power advantages.
