About Biped
Biped follows the journey of two small robots, Aku and Sila, as they walk side‑by‑side through a variety of scenic locations. The game blends simple movement mechanics with light puzzle elements, letting players explore forests, valleys, waterfalls and icy peaks.
Players can tackle the adventure alone or with a partner in shared‑screen co‑op, customizing their robots with hats and other items. A built‑in level editor and Steam Workshop integration let the community expand the experience far beyond the base stages.
01 / THE GUIDE
Innovative Controls
The game uses a minimalist input scheme: each robot leg is driven by a separate stick or by the left and right mouse buttons. This design supports both gamepad and mouse‑only play, allowing precise walking, sliding and more complex actions such as operating machinery.
Full controller support includes DualShock and DualSense, and the game can be played without timed input, making it accessible for a range of skill levels.
- Start with slow movements to get comfortable with the split‑leg scheme.
- Experiment with both stick and mouse inputs to discover which feels more natural.

Two‑Player Co‑op
Biped offers a shared‑screen co‑op mode where two players coordinate the robots’ legs to solve challenges. The mode works locally, online, and via Remote Play Together, letting friends or family members join from separate devices.
Co‑op emphasizes communication; players must time steps together to navigate puzzles, operate machinery, or cut wood, reinforcing the theme of partnership.
- Use voice chat or simple gestures to stay in sync during tight sections.
- Assign each player a leg consistently to reduce confusion.

Explorable Environments
The adventure spans multiple biomes, from lush forests to icy mountains, each containing hidden paths and planetary beacons. Visual variety keeps traversal fresh and encourages players to search for secrets.
Environmental puzzles often require precise leg coordination, making the scenery an integral part of the gameplay rather than mere backdrop.
- Take time to look for subtle visual cues that hint at hidden routes.
- Observe the terrain before attempting difficult maneuvers.

Robot Customization
Collectibles scattered throughout levels can be exchanged for goofy hats and other cosmetic items. Players can dress their robots individually or match outfits with their partner for a coordinated look.
Customization does not affect gameplay mechanics, but it adds a playful layer of personal expression and visual reward for exploration.
- Prioritize collecting treasures early to unlock more hat options.
- Coordinate colors with your co‑op partner for a fun visual theme.

Level Creation & Workshop
After completing the built‑in stages, players can design their own levels using the included editor and publish them to the Steam Workshop. Community‑made levels can be downloaded and played, extending replay value.
The editor supports the same control scheme, letting creators craft puzzles that rely on the split‑leg mechanics, ensuring consistency with the core experience.
- Test your custom level in single‑player before sharing.
- Watch popular Workshop submissions for design inspiration.
