About Beyond: Two Souls

Beyond: Two Souls is a psychological action‑adventure starring Elliot Page and Willem Dafoe. Players follow Jodie Holmes, a young woman linked to a supernatural entity called Aiden, as she travels worldwide confronting physical and mental challenges.

The PC version adds full controller support, Steam achievements, remote‑play options and visual upgrades such as 4K, 21:9 widescreen and 60 fps. Players can choose story order, difficulty level and solo or local co‑op play.

01 / THE GUIDE

Story Order

The game lets you experience Jodie’s life either in cinematic order or in chronological order, letting you decide how the narrative is presented.

Both orders are available in solo and local co‑op modes, so the same scenes are played regardless of the chosen sequence.

  • Try chronological order first to see cause‑and‑effect relationships.
  • Replay in cinematic order for a movie‑like pacing.

02 / THE GUIDE

Difficulty Levels

Beyond: Two Souls includes two difficulty modes that affect the overall challenge level; you select one before starting a playthrough.

Both difficulty modes are usable in solo and duo play.

  • Start on the easier mode to learn the game’s mechanics.
  • Switch to the harder mode for a more demanding experience.

03 / THE GUIDE

Local Co‑op

Local co‑op uses two controllers: one player controls Jodie, the other controls Aiden, allowing both characters to be operated simultaneously.

Local co‑op distributes control of the two protagonists between two players.

  • Coordinate actions between Jodie and Aiden for smoother sequences.
  • Communicate to decide who handles each challenge.

04 / THE GUIDE

Visual Optimization

The PC version supports 4K resolution, widescreen 21:9 aspect ratio and a steady 60 fps framerate, offering high‑definition presentation on capable hardware.

These visual settings shape picture quality and presentation.

  • Enable 4K if your monitor and GPU can sustain it.
  • Use 21:9 for a broader cinematic view.

05 / THE GUIDE

Steam Platform Features

On Windows, the game integrates Steam achievements, Steam Cloud, Remote Play on Phone and Tablet, Remote Play Together and Family Sharing, expanding ways to track progress and play with others.

Mac and Linux are not listed as supported platforms, so these Steam features apply only to the Windows version.

  • Enable Steam Cloud to keep progress across installations.
  • Use Remote Play Together to invite a friend without a second copy.
