About Becastled
Becastled blends city‑building and tower‑defense, letting you shape a Sun Kingdom settlement by day and repel nightly Moon Beast sieges. Gather wood and iron, raise walls, and place decorations while keeping your people fed and productive.
When sunset sounds, you switch to combat mode: man battlements, fire ballistas, and hold the line until dawn. Success hinges on a solid economy, well‑placed defenses, and effective use of terrain.
01 / THE GUIDE
Daytime Building
During daylight you transform a modest village into a medieval city. Farms and markets provide food, while sawmills supply wood, while you gather wood and iron for walls, watchtowers, and gates. Roads link structures, creating a functional layout.
Taverns and street decorations lift your subjects' spirits, and satisfied subjects work harder and fight with greater courage, helping you prepare for the night.
- Place resource‑producing buildings near storage to reduce travel time.
- Use roads to connect key structures and avoid isolated sections.

Nighttime Siege
At sunset the Moon Beasts attack with battering rams, siege towers, and dragons. Your walls and iron gates form the first barrier, while catapults and archers add ranged firepower.
The objective is to survive until sunrise. If defenses crumble, villagers can be rallied to fight alongside your trained army, extending the line of resistance.
- Layer your defenses with walls and iron gates before adding heavy siege weapons.
- Position archers on higher ground to increase their line of sight.

Army Training
Forge weapons and armor to equip infantry, archers, pikemen, and later ballistas or trebuchets. Training progresses from basic troops to a varied army capable of holding the line.
A well‑equipped force can be positioned on walls or in the courtyard, allowing you to respond to different enemy types during the siege.
- Prioritize armor upgrades for units defending the walls.
- Mix melee and ranged units to cover multiple threat ranges.

Terrain Strategy
Hills, rivers, and forests act as natural defenses, creating moats or high‑ground positions. A river shields you in summer but can freeze in winter, forming a bridge for enemies.
Planning expansions with these seasonal shifts in mind lets you stockpile resources before winter and adjust wall placements to counter new enemy routes.
- Build near rivers for summer protection, and prepare for the frozen crossing enemies can use in winter.
- Use forests as cover for ranged units when possible.

Expansion & Sunstone
As your settlement grows you can claim new lands and mine Sunstone, a resource used to raise buildings and improve safety. Expansion fuels a stronger economy that supports a larger army.
Pushing back the Moon Beast forces relies on continual growth, balancing new construction with the need to defend existing structures each night.
- Secure Sunstone deposits early to fund later upgrades.
- Expand outward gradually to keep the defense perimeter manageable.
