Assist Functions
Assist tools include a Rewind feature to correct mistakes, save & load capabilities, and the ability to select preferred stages and power‑ups before starting. These functions were not present in the original home version. Additional assists such as redo and training help players manage the intense bullet patterns and improve performance without altering core gameplay.
- Use Rewind after a difficult bullet barrage to practice without restarting the whole run.
- Set your favorite power‑up configuration before each stage to streamline the start.

Newly arranged music by composers such as Shinji Hosoe and Yosuke Yasui enriches the experience, and the playlist lets you choose which version of a track to hear.

Multiplayer Co‑op
BATSUGUN supports both single‑player and multiplayer co‑op, including shared/split‑screen options. Players can team up locally, sharing the same screen while battling the same enemy waves. Steam achievements and cloud saves are available, and the game recommends using a gamepad for optimal control, though full controller support is provided.
- Coordinate pilot selection with a partner to explore different dialogue outcomes.
- Utilize the split‑screen view to keep both players’ bullet fields visible.
