About Ballionaire
Ballionaire is a physics‑driven roguelike where you design pachinko‑style boards, drop balls, and bonk triggers to earn money. Each run requires paying tribute to three Elders, whose tribulations can dramatically reshape the challenge.
The game features several distinct boards, a sandbox Laballatory for risk‑free testing, and Steam‑Workshop support for custom Lua triggers. With over 145 triggers and 55 boons, players can endlessly experiment and refine their scoring engines.
01 / THE GUIDE
Multiple Board Types
Ballionaire offers three named boards—the Pyramid, the Danger Wheel, and a Pinball‑style table. Their differing shapes and orientations change how balls travel and how triggers are hit, so a layout that works on one board may behave differently on another.
Because each board presents unique physics, players must redesign trigger placements for every run. This requirement encourages fresh theorycrafting across the game's varied boards.
- Test a trigger set on each board in the Laballatory before committing to a run.
- Observe how the same trigger’s timing shifts when the board orientation changes.

Elders and Tribulations
During every run you must survive by paying tribute to three Elders. The Elders introduce devious, game‑changing tribulations that can force you to alter your board or strategy in order to meet their monetary demands.
If you fail to satisfy an Elder’s challenge the run ends; success lets you continue toward Ballionaire status and attempt new victory conditions within the same session.
- Prioritize triggers that generate steady income early in the run.
- Keep a reserve of cash to cover unexpected tribulation costs.

Triggers and Boons
The base game provides more than 145 triggers—such as spawning eggs with a chicken or cutting coins with an axe—and over 55 boons, like the Boomerang or Air Conditioner. These tools let you shape scoring engines or spawn spammers as you prefer.
You may ban specific triggers or boons, allowing you to tailor the pool of available tools and craft a personalized set of score‑busting options.
- Combine utility triggers with offensive boons to balance chaos and control.
- Experiment with banning less useful triggers to focus on high‑yield combos.

Sandbox Laballatory
The Laballatory mode lets you experiment without Elder tribulations. You can build and test boards, create memes, or attempt impossible configurations in a pressure‑free environment.
Because the Laballatory removes the run‑ending stakes, it serves as a safe space to iterate on trigger placements, observe physics interactions, and refine strategies before entering a live run.
- Save several sandbox layouts to compare performance later.
- Iterate on a board by changing one trigger at a time to see its impact.

Steam Workshop Mod Support
Ballionaire offers a Lua‑based API for custom triggers and starter packs. Through Steam Workshop you can download community creations or upload your own, extending the game’s content beyond the base set.
Mod support adds replayability by letting players introduce new mechanics or thematic packs, which can be mixed with official triggers and boons for fresh strategies.
- Start with popular starter packs to quickly expand your trigger pool.
- Read each mod’s description to ensure it matches your current board design.
