01 / THE GUIDE

Storyline

Set in Nanjing during the shift from spring to summer, the plot begins with Wei Qiuwu visiting his sick father. He encounters Li Jiayun, whose concertina playing sparks an unlikely friendship that becomes central to the story.

He Jia later guides the pair to various locations, introducing new people and situations. The trio’s bond appears solid until nurse Yang Qin reveals a hidden truth, altering the narrative direction and emotional tone.

  • Notice how each character’s perspective adds layers to ordinary scenes.
  • Compare the atmosphere before and after Yang Qin’s revelation for narrative contrast.

Multiple Endings

The game provides several routes and endings, each carrying its own meaning. No single choice is presented as the definitive "right" option, encouraging exploration of different outcomes.

Because endings differ in significance, experiencing more than one route can reveal new dialogue and character insights, expanding the overall narrative picture.

  • Mark decision points that lead to distinct conclusions.
  • Discuss ending variations with others to uncover hidden themes.
