01 / THE GUIDE
World Exploration
The game presents a diverse, interconnected world that includes a haunted castle, a bustling Japanese‑style metropolis and other dreamlike locations. These areas are linked in a 2.5D side‑scrolling layout, encouraging players to revisit earlier zones after unlocking new abilities.
Progression opens new pathways, and Bō’s move‑and‑reset system lets players recover from a mis‑jump without penalty. This mechanic supports precise platforming and enables access to hidden platforms once additional staff transformations become available.
- Use the reset function to test difficult jumps without losing progress.
- Return to previously visited zones after gaining a new staff ability to reveal new routes.

Staff Transformations
Bō can brew and drink arcane teas, each granting a distinct staff transformation such as the Mochi Mallet, Lotus Dash or Grappling Gun. These transformations affect both combat moves and traversal options, expanding the ways players can navigate the environment.
The transformations are required to solve platform puzzles and to confront the mythic bosses scattered throughout the journey. Switching between forms is done by consuming the appropriate tea, allowing players to adapt to new challenges as they arise.
- Experiment with each tea in a safe area to learn its movement or attack pattern.
- Switch staff forms when a platform segment demands a specific ability.

Daruma Allies
Colorful Daruma dolls are scattered across the world and can be upgraded after discovery. Once upgraded, a Daruma can be summoned to the battlefield where it deploys spells or other abilities that assist Bō during combat encounters.
Summoned Daruma allies remain active for the duration of a fight, allowing players to layer their attacks with the dolls’ special effects. Upgrading a Daruma enhances its spell potency and utility, making it a valuable resource against tougher enemies.
- Upgrade the Daruma dolls you use most often for greater combat impact.
- Summon an ally before entering a boss arena to maximize its contribution.

Boss Battles
The game features massive bosses drawn from Japanese folklore, each requiring mastery of movement, staff transformations and ally summons. Players must learn each boss’s patterns and use Bō’s abilities strategically to defeat these mythic adversaries.
The free update introduces a Boss Rush mode, where players face several of these bosses in succession. This mode tests endurance and skill, offering a concentrated challenge without altering the core combat mechanics.
- Observe a boss’s attack pattern before committing to heavy attacks.
- Use the reset mechanic during high‑damage phases to avoid fatal mistakes.
