About ATLAS

ATLAS is a cross‑play pirate sandbox where PC and Xbox One players share a massive, persistent ocean world. Build and customize ships, recruit crews, and hunt treasure while battling other pirates or mythical beasts. Players can choose PvP or PvE servers, join forces in co‑op, or sail solo in single‑player mode. The game offers extensive character, ship, and organization customization, plus modding tools for custom content.

01 / THE GUIDE

Cross‑Play and Multiplayer Modes

ATLAS supports cross‑play between PC and Xbox One, letting players meet in the same world. Official servers host both PvP and PvE experiences, each with its own rules for loot and conflict.

In PvP servers, ships, inventories, settlements and other assets can be taken by other players. PvE servers focus on cooperative exploration, secret hunting and fighting mythical creatures together.

  • Join a PvE server first to learn navigation before tackling PvP raids.
  • Use the cross‑play feature to find a larger pool of crew members.

02 / THE GUIDE

Ship Construction System

Players can design vessels from tiny rafts to massive galleons using a shipyard. Every plank, mast and gunport can be placed, and sails can be customized for appearance.

Ships are built piece by piece, named, and can be crewed by recruited players or NPCs to fulfill roles such as weapon handling or sail management.

  • Start with a small, maneuverable ship before expanding to larger warships.
  • Balance gunports and sail area to maintain speed and firepower.

Crew Recruitment and Management

Crews can be formed from other players or hired NPCs. Crew members perform tasks like manning weapons, hoisting sails, or searching for treasure.

Keeping crew members fed and sharing loot prevents mutiny, ensuring smooth operation of the ship and its missions.

  • Assign specific duties to each crew member to maximize efficiency.
  • Regularly distribute loot to maintain morale.

Organization and Settlement Building

Beyond ships, players can create settlements and entire companies using a modular construction system. These can serve as merchant empires, privateer fleets, or government navies.

Organizations can contest other groups' land, structures, or ships, expanding influence across the world’s 45,000 km² ocean.

  • Focus on resource‑rich islands when establishing a new settlement.
  • Form alliances with other organizations to defend against raids.

Modding and Custom Server Tools

The ATLAS Dev Kit lets creators build custom content, from WWII aircraft to steampunk airships, using the game’s database‑driven network technology.

Server hosts can design bespoke worlds with a visual map tool, which streams dynamically to players during gameplay.

  • Experiment with the Dev Kit to add unique vessels to your fleet.
  • Use custom servers to tailor gameplay difficulty or themes.
