About Astrea: Six-Sided Oracles

Astrea: Six‑Sided Oracles is a dice‑deck‑building roguelike where players assemble a pool of dice instead of cards. The goal is to use Purification to counteract the system‑wide Corruption and protect the Star System.

The game offers six distinct Oracles, over 350 dice, upgradeable Sentinels, and a variety of random events. Players can adjust difficulty across sixteen levels and enjoy full controller support, Steam achievements, and cloud saves in a single‑player experience.

01 / THE GUIDE

Dual Damage System

Astrea introduces a two‑sided damage mechanic: Purification and Corruption. Purification can damage enemies or heal the player, while Corruption can damage the player or heal enemies, allowing strategic trade‑offs.

Players may choose to take Corruption to unlock powerful health‑bar‑linked skills, but excessive Corruption risks being consumed by it, creating a risk‑reward balance that shapes each run.

  • Track your Corruption level closely; small amounts can enable strong abilities without fatal risk.
  • Use Purification on enemies when you have surplus health to maximize damage output.

02 / THE GUIDE

Dice Pool Construction

Instead of cards, Astrea lets players build a dice pool from over 350 dice. Dice are categorized as safe, balanced, or risky, each reflecting a high‑risk, high‑reward design.

Dice faces can be edited with new actions, letting players tilt odds toward desired results and tailor their pool to personal tactics.

  • Start with balanced dice to learn mechanics before experimenting with risky dice.
  • Customize die faces to add actions that complement your Oracle’s abilities.

03 / THE GUIDE

Oracles and Abilities

Six Brave Oracles are available, each with unique dice sets, abilities, and playstyles ranging from spellcasters to berserkers. Selecting an Oracle determines the baseline dice and skill options.

Each Oracle can acquire over 170 modifying Blessings, split into Star Blessings (lower power) and Black Hole Blessings (higher power with a drawback), expanding tactical depth.

  • Review an Oracle’s default dice before adding Blessings to maintain synergy.
  • Mix Star and Black Hole Blessings to balance power and risk.

04 / THE GUIDE

Upgradeable Support Sentinels

The game features 20 upgradeable Support Sentinels, enchanted constructs that provide reliable dice rolls during combat. Sentinels act as companions that can influence outcomes without direct player input.

Sentinel upgrades improve their dice contributions, allowing players to reinforce weak areas of their pool or add consistent effects.

  • Prioritize Sentinel upgrades that add dice types you lack.
  • Use Sentinels early in a run to stabilize dice variance.

05 / THE GUIDE

Random Events & Difficulty

More than 20 random events appear in mysterious locations, each capable of altering the course of a run by granting bonuses or imposing penalties. These events add variability to each playthrough.

Players can select from 16 difficulty levels, customizing the challenge to test their strategies and adapt the game's intensity.

  • When encountering a random event, weigh its immediate benefit against potential long‑term Corruption gain.
  • Begin with a moderate difficulty to learn mechanics before tackling higher levels.
