About Assassin’s Creed Rogue
Assassin’s Creed® Rogue follows Shay Patrick Cormac, a former Assassin who turns Templar during the French‑and‑Indian War. The narrative travels through 18th‑century New York City, the American river valleys, and the icy North Atlantic, documenting Shay’s gradual descent into darkness.
The game blends land stealth, a new air rifle, and an expanded naval system that adds boarding fights, burning oil and a puckle gun. Tobii eye‑tracking lets players steer with gaze, while adjustable difficulty and a mouse‑only option let each player set their own challenge.

Playing as a Templar
Rogue is the first title to let players experience the Assassin’s Creed world from a Templar viewpoint, following Shay’s betrayal of the Brotherhood and his new mission to hunt former allies. Shay retains Assassin skills but also gains new tools such as an air rifle and enhanced eagle vision.
Eagle vision highlights hidden enemies, allowing players to detect Assassins in shadows, on rooftops, or in crowds. The air rifle provides both short‑ and long‑range combat options, letting players choose between stealthy elimination and direct engagement.
- Use eagle vision early in an area to locate concealed foes before committing to combat.
- Compare the air rifle’s range with melee distance to decide the safest approach.

Three Distinct Open Worlds
Rogue’s map is divided into the North Atlantic Ocean, a hybrid river‑valley frontier, and an 18th‑century New York City, each offering its own navigation style and visual identity. The environments are fully recreated for the period, providing varied scenery while retaining core gameplay mechanics.
Exploring each region reveals different environmental challenges: cold winds and icebergs at sea, seamless river navigation on land, and dense urban architecture in the city. These differences affect travel speed and combat encounters.
- Travel on foot in New York then switch to ship in the river valley to notice speed differences.
- Observe how architecture changes from dense city blocks to natural river landscapes.

Tobii Eye‑Tracking Integration
Supported Tobii devices let players guide Shay by focusing on the desired path; an auto‑pause feature helps make sure you don’t miss out on any action. This gaze‑based navigation lets players direct Shay’s journey across North America and the North Atlantic by focusing on the path ahead.
Compatible hardware includes Tobii Eye Tracker 4C and several Acer, Alienware and MSI notebooks and monitors, expanding the range of gaze‑based setups for players who own these devices.
- Calibrate the eye tracker before long sessions for smoother movement.
- Rely on auto‑pause when you need a brief break without losing progress.

Adjustable Settings and Controls
Rogue offers adjustable difficulty, custom volume controls, stereo and surround sound options, and a mouse‑only control scheme, allowing players to tailor the experience to their preferences. These settings affect challenge level, audio immersion, and input method without requiring additional hardware.
Partial controller support adds another input method, but the game remains fully playable with the mouse‑only scheme and standard input devices.
- Experiment with difficulty levels to find a balance between challenge and story flow.
- Enable surround sound to better locate naval combat cues.
