About ARK: The Survival Of The Fittest
ARK: The Survival of the Fittest is a prototype battle‑royale spin‑off that pits up to 60 players against each other in large‑scale dinosaur combat. Players form tribes, descend from a sky lobby on a Quetzal, and build armies of primeval creatures while a shrinking “ring of death” forces encounters. The mode blends fast‑paced action with a real‑time‑strategy overlay, letting survivors command, possess, and upgrade dinosaurs until only one tribe remains.
01 / THE GUIDE
Tribe Formation and Drop
All participants start in a TEK‑imbued sky lobby where they can join or create a tribe before the match begins. Once the battle starts, each tribe flies toward the island aboard a giant Quetzal, then ejects and glides to a chosen landing zone.
Landing zones determine early positioning; teams may rush supply crates, hide in jungle terrain, or seek wild creatures to tame. The initial drop sets the tempo for each tribe’s early strategy.
- Coordinate landing spots with teammates to avoid early overcrowding.
- Prioritize supply crates for immediate resources.

Dinosaur Assembly and Taming
Players acquire dinosaurs by killing creatures for tokens, then spending those tokens to tame new wilds or steal downed tames from opponents. Each dinosaur gains experience from kills, advancing through a tier system that provides fixed statistical benefits.
The system removes traditional crafting and harvesting, focusing on rapid army building. Upgrades are applied directly to creatures rather than through inventory management.
- Target weaker dinos first to accumulate tokens quickly.
- Steal downed enemy tames to boost your own force.

Commander Mode and RTS Overlay
At any time, players can enter a birds‑eye‑view Commander Mode, allowing them to control the entire dinosaur army, directly possess individual creatures, and issue team commands. This mode persists after death, letting fallen players continue influencing the match.
The overlay includes an ally‑driven fog of war and an intelligent pinging system for team communication, emphasizing strategic coordination over individual combat.
- Use Commander Mode to reposition units after death.
- Ping enemy positions to keep teammates informed.

Dynamic Ring of Death
A shrinking “ring of death” encircles the playable area, forcing tribes closer together as the match progresses. The ring’s size and position change uniquely each round, creating emergent gameplay and unpredictable advantages.
Surviving the ring requires movement, positioning, and timely engagements, as staying outside the safe zone results in elimination.
- Monitor the ring’s edge and plan retreats early.
- Use the ring to funnel opponents into choke points.

Customization and Boss Summoning
Tribes can display custom‑painted war banners on their dinosaur forces, adding visual identity. Additionally, players may summon ARK bosses to strengthen their army, providing a powerful tactical option.
These features are cosmetic and strategic, allowing teams to showcase spirit while gaining occasional combat boosts.
- Coordinate boss summons with peak army strength.
- Use war banners to signal tribe presence to allies.
